Depends on the Decade, OSU, Michigan, and USC have been putting out top level athletes for a very long time. Miami had a few years where they put out ridiculous amounts of talent. They've fallen off since then.

Miami for like the first half of the decade and USC since then. Miami has kind of tailed off in both college and their appearance in the pros. There are still a ton of great players from Miami in the NFL, but not as much new talent is coming in to the level that USC is churning them out.

Depends on the position.

I wouldn't touch a quarterback from Ohio State with a ten foot pole.

Wide receivers from USC have trended more towards bustville than many of the major schools.. but defensively they have produced absolute studs (Polamalu, Tatupu, etc).

For awhile, Miami was popping out stars left and right.. but since Butch Davis has left.. the talent level has gradually dwindled down .. so much so a kid from Western Ontario was drafted before a Cane this year. Michigan is also heading this direction.

The thing about the draft that's most compelling is just how dispersed the talent has become. I think as the years pass by.. you're going to see more and more talent come from the smaller schools, because now they are being recognized and sometimes it's much easier to stand out at a 'mid-major' school for 3-4 years than it is at a powerhouse.

Not saying the USC's and Ohio State's of the world won't continue to stockpile talent and see alumni be drafted early in the draft.. because that's foolish to say. But over the course of time we're going to see more players go be the 'BMOC' at a less prolific school because it's shown that it doesn't hurt your draft status anymore.
