Oden sucks, he was overhyped from the day he enrolled at Ohio St. He's a big clumsy oaf who can't play. Combined with the fact he gets hurt when the fucking wind blows too hard, and yes, he is a gigantic bust.

I wish I could remember who the clowns were who thought I was nuts and laughed me off of MM when I said Roy Hibbert would not only be a better pro, but a MUCH better pro, than the big stiff.

Yeah, I just looked up Hibby's stats, can't believe he's posting such a nice line. I remember when he came out I was a huge fan, I wanted him so bad to be a Hawk. He was, and still would be, a perfect fit with us. I didn't realize he was playing this well though. Glad he's finally blossomed.

He's a fucking beast right now, a legit 7' shot blocking/rebounding/scoring C in a league that has very few real C's to begin with.

John Thompson (the dad) thought he was the worst scholarship player G'town ever had, and gave him the nickname "The Big Clumsy". I've never seen a player make such giant strides from season to season. Every year he gets better and better.

helps he made himself into a physical specimen...he looks in great shape and I believe he at least trimmed himself to 260 (says he's 278 in his yahoo profile).

Oden is getting microfracture...you won't see him until 2012 at least.

I don’ think I was part of that particular discussion, but had I been I would have told you that you were crazy. I never thought Oden would be worthy of a #1 overall pick, but I did think he'd be a consistent 12ppg/11rpg/2bpg guy, while I thought Hibbert was a beneficiary of playing at a school known for producing Morning, Mutombo, Ewing, etc. I didn't like Hibbert’s game in college and thought he'd bust out; however, he proved me wrong.

When he played Oden wasn't that bad 9ppg/7rpg, but the guy never played. Injuries have robbed him of a promising career. I have to believe Portland will never pass on a young stud perimeter player over a bigman ever again. It will be interesting to see what happens in the offseason, because he'll be a RFA and he's still very young (22), so I'm sure he'll be given every opportunity to succeed.
