Heyman: Sox attempt to acquire Hanley Ramirez

I hope they do get him. If we have to trade Ellsbury to get him then so be it. On a lot of the talk shows they have been saying if they did acquire Hanley that they would be try to play him in center field. Which is why Ellsbury would be involved in the trade.

If we didnt trade him away then we wouldnt of gotten Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell. Which means we probably wouldnt of won the 2007 world series because both made a huge impact on the team.

That would be a great lineup. I just don't think that Boston should give up Ellsbury for him. Boston's getting old, quick. I think they should offer one of thier star vet's and another lesser vet for Hanley. If the Marlins can't handle the money, than give some cash too. I know that sounds like alot, 2 players and money. But you'll be getter one of the best speedsters in the league, and you'll be getting younger for the future.

look at their payroll, the fact that they were in a WS let alone win one was extrordinary

they did what they had to do trade vets for who they thought were going to be stars, and HanRam was just that if not more

You dont know if we could of gotten someone. All I know is that this trade has worked out pretty damn good for the Redsox. Josh Beckett is still one of the best pitchers in the league when healthy and Mike Lowell is a key contributor to the Redsox success and I do believe if he was healthy in the ALCS that the Redsox would of been in the world series because we were missing his bat during that series.

I disagree a lil bit. As long he comes to a full recovery I think he will be a solid bat this year for the sox. The only thing I see that may decrease is his fielding.

all of his stats were declining last year, did terrible in the playoffs, and is coming off an injury

i can definitely see the red sox picking up a joe crede or a juan encarnacion or shipping lowell before the season starts

He still was on of the redsox best run producers last year. Of course he did terrible in the playoffs because he was injured and should of never been on the post season roster to begin with. As long as he is healthy I think he can still have a batting average between 270 and 300.

I rather have a guy that I know what I am going to expect then someone who could just flop under the pressre of playing in Boston. What I believe the redsox can get out of Lowell is a batting average between 270 and 300, around 20 homeruns, and around 100 RBI's depending if he is healthy which I believe he will be once the season starts. I believe the whole texiera thing put a bad thing on Lowell because now everyone thinks he is all washed up.

In Mike Lowell's all star season in 2007 he had 21 homeruns in 154 games. In 2008 he had 17 homeruns in 113 games he would of easily surpassed his 2007 homerun total if he was healthy. His average was the only down fall between 2007 and 2008. He would of been an all star last year too if i wasnt for the Redsox sending many other players to the game. I can almost guarentee if Mike Lowell can stay healthy in 2009 he will get 100 RBI's

of course he was 50 RBI's down because he missed almost 40 more games. I know 2007 was a peak year. I am just saying he had a pretty good year last year. If you watched the Redsox last year you would see what the difference was when they had Lowell in the lineup and when he wasnt in the lineup.
