Former Super Bowl-winning coach Mike Holmgren is willing to discuss returning to the sidelines if some of the seven teams that fired head coaches Monday have interest.

"If anyone is interested, I'll listen," said Holmgren, who indicated he will not aggressively pursue job openings.

Holmgren won a Super Bowl championship with the Green Bay Packers and led the Seattle Seahawks to the NFL title game.

After leaving the Cleveland Browns front office after the team's ownership change, he has relocated to Arizona, where the Cardinals fired Ken Whisenhunt. Holmgren declined to reveal which teams might interest him or whether he has been contacted about openings.

Holmgren, 64, might have to overcome questions about how committed he would be to working the sidelines after leaving coaching for the front office with the Browns.

Don't see it happening. His time spent in the FO of Cleveland will lead Holmgren to likely want personnel decisions to run through him as well, and we saw with the Seahawks that this didn't really work out until he lost that power. I can't see a team giving that to him.
 
I'm honestly wondering if he can be nearly as effective as he used to be. He was a great coach for Seattle but couldn't win the big game there. At the very least he can build a foundation for the next guy.
 
he is terrible at picking talent. he wasted some high level picks on players like weeden and richardson. plus he thought he could mold mccoy into something.
shurmur was a puppet for him. holmgren brought all his buddies to cleveland to coach and work in the front office. these guys who all have the same agent. the team sucked under his reign. not to mention he allowed mangini to coach an extra year, cause holmgren is such a nice guy

he is a terrible front office guy. As a coach, its possible he could do well.

If he were paired with a good front office guy, he'd be an outstanding hire.
