[360] I keep getting logged off of xbl

Its been going on for over 2 weeks. I searched for solutions and all I can come up with short of formatting the hdd is to redownload profile and clear the cache. Ive done both and I still get logged off after about 5-10min

The weird thing though, is that when I quit a game and go to the dashboard, im logged in.

Downloading also takes forever. Everything else I have plugged into my network works fine. Ive dont a speed test and that is also fine.

Anyone have any other possible solutions to this? I have a slim 360

i would create a static ip and open some ports for XBL as this is probably a connect issue rather than a xbl issue

I already tried static ip. I thought it had worked but then I got kicked off. Ill try port forwarding

so i set up port forwarding. now does my pc need to always be on when i play 360 now?

Did you ever unplug your modem and router ?

Unless you changed something, everything should be the same. I mean, there wouldn't be a reason for your 360 to suddenly not connect unless you changed a setting or your modem is confused.

If you can't figure out the port forwarding stuff, try doing a factory reset on your router and setting it up again. Should be a little button you have to use a paperclip/toothpick/pen to push in and hold for a few seconds on your router.

and i agree with garrett...did you try to just unplug the router and plug it back in? another simple check is..did you somehow crimp the cable/ethernet line? is does happen and i have had it mess my connect up

no, the only change i made was changing the wifi password but this issue started before that and its wired anyway

unplugging the router and modem has nothing to do with wireless or wired. sometimes, you just have to do a unplug to refresh the modem and router.
if already did a factory reset by pushing the button in the pinhole...well, that gives you a full factory reset and mean you will have to complete reset up your router.

another thing you can do a see if there is a firmware update available for the router.

lastly, in my experience, routers are not the most reliable device in the world. i have had to replace several of my linksys routers. free from my cable company, but still

ive tried to get new firmware but their stupid website asks to be a member but i cant sign up to download anything

i have another question about the ports
the guide website said to put in the static ip for my computer. is this correct or should i have set up those ports using the xbox static ip?

thanks. its what i figured but the guide said something else. i finally got to test the 360 and i got the moderate NAT but i switched the ips on the ports to the xbox and not it works. now to see if i get kicked off or not
