127 Hours is the best one I've seen so far. Would be shocked if anything tops that. This seems a bit to similar to Crazy Heart, IMO, but I'll check it out.

I'll be shocked if Paltrow doesn't win Best Actress for this one. Seems like a really charged performance by her.

From what I hear, Portman's already got it for Black Swan, or at least she's the leader in the clubhouse. I think Franco has Best Actor wrapped up as well, so these Oscars might not have much suspense to them.

Yeah I'm glad they decided against making our main character a strong, independent woman who has serious issues that she can't really deal with on her own but she would still be strong and independent.

Also it will be interesting to see how the story of Don Billingsly works out. He's been haunted by alcohol for so long, and even now that his father has beaten it and become a pretty big band manager, Don still has to face it again. I wonder if any of him and his father's past will come back in this? They could really make a sub-story out of that.

Did Meryl Streep make a movie this year? Best Actress will either be Paltrow, Portman, or Anne Hathaway.

As for Best Picture, I think Inception and The Social Network are 1-1A. Country Strong would be a similar Best Picture upset that starred Miss Paltrow, when Shakespeare in Love beat Saving Private Ryan, Elizabeth, and Life is Beautiful.

Social Network could win it for sure, but not Inception. As for best actor, I think Zach Gilford will take it after "The Lion Whisperer" finally hits theaters. It's gotten some amazing advanced reviews.
