[ALL] I was in 7th grade, and I just found the Master Ball

I never knew that Mewtwo would be such a pain in the ass at the end of the game...nobody ever told me.

All my knowledge from Pokémon came from the show; so naturally I thought Ditto was the most badass Pokémon there was. The first time I found one in the wild, my heart stopped. I immediately tossed my one and only Master Ball at him in order to catch him. Nobody told me that Ditto's were ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! AND WERE TERRIBLE!!!

Fast forward a few months, and I'm at the end of the game. I'm locked in an epic battle with Mewtwo on the school bus. No matter how low I got his health, I couldn't capture him. Time and time again, I sent Ultra Ball after Ultra Ball out and he would still elude me.

Friends all around me eventually asked why I wasn't using the Master Ball to catch him. I felt my face go flush with embarrassment...the walls started closing in around me. There was NO WAY I could tell them the truth, I would never hear the end of it. I said I had never found the Master Ball in the game and was too close to the end to bother going back for it. Everyone around me bought the lie; I was safe from ridicule but the lie burned a hole into my soul.

For 15 long years I've carried this lie with me. It's time the truth finally came out. There is nothing I can do and no amount of words I can say which will ease the burden of truth I've just entrusted to you. All I ask is forgiveness in time.

I could not capture it, no matter how many times I shut off the game and battled her. I had no other option. I had to throw it. I couldn't let this beautiful bitch elude my capture. The throw- Peyton Manning-esque. The capture- like Joe Mauer catching a fastball. The celebration dance on the sidewalk in Mustang, Oklahoma. My Mullet flowing in the wind.

You know looking back on my poke days I never ever used my masterball on anything. I guess I was always looking for a challenge and would always save before the great behemoths and try time after time to just use a ultra ball, great ball, or whatever I had to capture them, but NEVER the masterball.

I did the same thing! I remember meeting Mewtwo and throwing out my Ditto only to have my spirits crushed by watching him get one hit KOed. What a waste. Ended up catching Mewtwo with a ultra ball though.

I think I had a guide for Pokemon Yellow and I knew to save the Master Ball.

My favorite Pokemon memory was my mother allowing me to rent a video game each weekend I was at her house. Half of the time, I would rent Pokemon Stadium before I bought it, and one time, someone left their Pokemon on the game, getting me a level 60 Gengar and Golem as I transferred them off the game to mine :smug:
