Is Matt Moore the truth?

Matt Moore is nice, but you know if he struggles for a couple of games the fans in Carolina will be asking for Jimmy to get a chance.
But the competition should benefit both of them.
 
I agree, Moore is going to show that hes a decent QB in the league. I doubt hes going to be Manning or Brady good but I could see him not losing games for Carolina with the run game we have. If he doesn't work out then we still have Clausen so it won't be to bad if he does suck it up.
 
Too early to form a solid opinion on Moore.
Need a bigger body of work.
Five games does not make a QB.

Panthers were right to draft Clausen, hedge their bets ... but that doesn't mean Moore might not be the guy anyway.

Moore, Clausen ... clearly better than old Jake from last year.
 
Moore played really well once he took over last season.

However, Jimmy Clausen is going to be a damn good QB in this league. And I hate everything about Jimmy Clausen. But just by watching the guy in preseason, I could tell that his footwork and throwing motion is on point. He has above average mechanics and fundamentals for a QB his age. His confidence and mental toughness is already ahead of the curve. Mark my words, Jimmy Clausen is going to be a damn good starting NFL QB one day. But I'll still hate his ugly mug.
 
I was irate when the Cowboys let Moore go at the end of the 2007 preseason. They actually thought they'd be able to sneak him onto the practice squad.

Matt Moore is decent QB, but that O-line blows chunks, they still don't have a second WR behind Smith and John Fox will be canned by week 8.
 
I think Matt Moore is a decent Quarterback, but I don't know if he will get much of a chance. I don't know if he comes out of the bye as the starter. He will have five games to hold off Jimmy Clausen.

Problem is, those five are @ NYG, vs. TB, vs. CIN, @ NO, vs. CHI. I would expect 1 win, maybe 2 out of that stretch. Plus, his role is really to just not make mistakes. Its a run-orriented team, so he could hold on to the starting spot all season. But to do that, he can't make any (costly) mistakes.
