It's official: Marcus Camby traded to Blazers

For Outlaw and Blake? I like Camby but seems a little steep, no? Luckily for the Blazers they have depth at those positions and are in DESPERATE need of a Center. This move should work out in the short term for Portland.
 
This trade opens up minutes for Bayless to come in and play even more and develop, plus it seemed like Travis Outlaw was not going to resign with the Blazers, and he's been in trade rumors for 2-3 year now. They still have Batum,Fernandez,Webster,etc to fill the minutes of Outlaw, and they get a legit center as well. Really like the deal for the Blazers.
 
While he may now get a chance to play in the postseason, Marcus Camby isn't thrilled that the Clippers traded him to the Trail Blazers.

Camby's agent, Rick Kaplan, informed him of the deal while he was having dinner on Monday night in Portland. The Clippers will play the Blazers on Tuesday night.

After receiving the call, Camby reportedly stormed out of the restaurant.

A source close to Camby says that while he recognizes that the Blazers are a better team, he is upset because his family is settled in Los Angeles and had hoped to re-sign with the Clippers this summer.

"He likes the Clippers, he likes the organization, he likes L.A.," the source said. "His wife is happy in L.A. And he's not one for change. He's definitely not happy about this."

As the article states, his family was settled down in LA and he loved it regardless of the Clippers record.

Can't really hate on the man for wanting to stay with his team whether it be bad or good

Outlaw and Blake were both walking anyways so it really doesn't hurt them at all financially or talent-wise.
 
man camby was a beast but i guess with kamen emerging he was disposable. but still camby brings D and rebounds. I dont know what to think of this, i guess they arent sold on telfair now. I guess it works out, camby is older and they got good guards, something the clips have been lacking for a long time.
 
Love this deal for us. Never been an Outlaw fan. He's so stupid and relies on his freakish athletic skill set. Blake is garbage. Good backup pg for 20mpg but not a starter in this league. Pretty surprised we got Camby without giving up a single draft pick.

Isn't Outlaw out for the season with a broken foot? Either way, it's a great deal for Portland. Pretty lopsided IMO.

Outlaw is on the verge of coming back but yeah his foots busted. He's a fucking retard. You can seriously see the guy think its so unreal. I'll take the second leading rebounder in the league no doubt!
