It didn't take long for Allen Iverson to grow frustrated with his bench role in Detroit.

Just two games into his return from a back injury, he has publicly aired his grievances.

"How many minutes did I play," Iverson said after he scored 11 points in 18 minutes in a loss to Cleveland. "It seemed way, way, way less than that. Eighteen minutes? Come on, man. I can play 18 minutes with my eyes closed. It's a bad feeling, man. I'm wondering what they rushed me to get back for? For that?

"It's a bad time for me mentally."

He missed a month with the back injury.

"I am just trying to get through it without starting a whole bunch of nonsense," Iverson said. "I'm looking at the big picture. If I vent my frustration then it's like, given who I am, I'll be the one everybody points the finger at. I am just going to try to laugh to stop from crying."
 
Iverson is not the type of player anyone would want on their team. I love dude's game but he's such an individual. That shit doesn't work when you are 160 lbs soaking wet and have a shaky jumper. Team ball is in these days AI, get with the program or GTFO. Especially in Deeeetroit of all places.

Oh well Pistons, enjoy your descent down to the Eastern Conference's mediocre.
 
The problem is I dont see any team where Ivy can fit in anymore. Hes not a dominant player like a Wade or LeBron anymore, and he struggles when the offense isnt built around him taking 50% of the shots. And no NBA team is built like that anymore.. I honestly cant think of a single team right now that Ivy can go to and take over the offense without stunting the development of someone else. Its a shame, but Ivy needs to adapt his game to the changing structure of the league and his team. I understand his frustration with coming off the bench, but your style of play warrants it on your current team. The problem is this is severely going to hinder the Pistons who are actually a better team when Iverson isnt playing.

Dont get me wrong, I love AI.. top 5 p4p all time most likely.. but the NBA game isnt what it was when you were carrying a bad Sixers team. Its a lot harder to win without depth, ask the Cavs who got swpet by the Spurs in the Finals a couple years back.

It's been proven that only one kind of team can work with Iverson: a team with a bunch of role players that don't need a certain number of shots. Otherwise, he simply doesn't mesh.

I knew from the moment this trade happened that it would work out poorly for Detroit and really well for Denver.

I hope not. That team actually has a good future infront of it and they play the ultimate team game. AI would be a terrible fit. The only team I can think that AI would really fit in is Golden State, New York, maybe Indiana, where they like to run and gun and everyone feels the need to get their own shots so its fair game.
 
AI got back to the 76ers, thats the only team you were ever great with, loved it when you came to Denver but lets face it, you werent that good here
 
I honestly dont think anyone thoguht the Pistons would be good after the trade. Pistons will not be down for long, they'll be right back up there once that cap clears and they sign thier bigman. The trade wasnt that bad. I'll forfiet a year to secure our future for 7-8 more years. Like the Eagles, better to rebuild 1 yr early then 1 yr too late.
