According to a newspaper in the Czech Republic, Jaromir Jagr is "on track to reach an agreement" to return to the Philadelphia Flyers.

While playing for the Flyers last season, Jagr had a blog with iSport.cz, the website of the newspaper that is reporting the potential deal.

Jagr made comments immediately after the Flyers were eliminated from the post-season that cast doubt on whether the NHL's active points leader would return to Philadelphia next season. However, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren met with Jagr's agent, Petr Svoboda, immediately after the season ended and said the talks were positive.

"I think it is fair to say that I have expressed interest in Jaromir returning to the Flyers," Holmgren told the Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News on Wednesday. "I think Jaromir has expressed his interest in the Flyers. He had a good year and I think he liked it here."

The Czech report speculated that there is a 65 percent chance that Jagr returns to the Flyers, a 30 percent chance he joins another NHL team and a five percent chance he goes home to play for HC Kladno.

Jagr's current contract, a one-year deal worth $3.3-million, expires on July 1, the first day of free agency.

"We agreed that we would speak again in late June," said Holmgren. "Our hands are tied right now. But there has been no agreement; nothing has been signed, no deal has been worked out so far."

Jagr scored 19 goals and 35 assists in 73 games with Philadelphia this season, and added eight points in 11 playoff games.

I'm very 'blah' about this move, he had a decent season (54 points) but disappeared in the play-offs due to an apparent injury. I guess it depends on how much he'll get paid, the Flyers don't have a ton of cap space to work with and really need to bring in a good defenseman.
 
Jaromir Jagr enjoyed Phildadelphia, but plans on testing free agency. Also plans to change training to shed some lbs and get faster.
