We know the gold color in our uniform is going to be taken out and that the helments are staying the same and that the unifrom will be unique to the nfl.

Do you think the reason for getting new uniforms is to symbolize that this is the beginning of a new era for the Jaguars organization and that we are putting the 2008 season behind us, or do you not put any stock into that?

Vic: That’s a nice story and I never try to let the facts get in the way of a good story, but I think the Jaguars were headed for this uniform change regardless of the changes in their hierarchy. Long before last season began, I heard rumblings about Wayne Weaver wanting a cleanup and standardization of the uniform design. The concern was that there were too many combinations and that the Jaguars were losing identity. What are their true colors and which is their dominant color? I think the new uniform design is going to define the team’s colors and provide distinct home and away combinations.

Going with a simpler look, which I commend. They are reportedly de-emphasizing the gold, which I do not commend. They chose black over gold, when I would've preferred the other way around.

They are likely going to look relatively tame compared to some recent NFL updates from what I've heard. Don't expect anything crazy.

Someone within the organization must hate Teal, Gold, Black and White...

All-black was fine in the context that it was a team template color and Teal on home jerseys was fine as is.

Whatever the case may be, if Jacksonville can't get their shit together (i.e., winning with defense and a strong as fuck running game), no new jersey swap is going to cover up the stench of being last in the division.

Maurice Jones-Drew is his legal name. He had never bothered to inform anyone at UCLA of his full name; he didn't want to make a fuss. Maurice Drew would do. The team's official colors are teal, black and gold. The new uniform design is likely to be more of a tweaking than a radical departure.

One of those three colors will NOT be in the uniform. Sadly, I'm leaning with the gold, but it will still be in the logo. They are not getting rid of the gold for that reason, hell, the gold is still in the logo as a major color.

God, those all-black jerseys were hideous.

The addition of black to the Jaguars as a main color was where they lost identity. Keeping the black makes these jerseys not an upgrade or a downgrade, but a sidestep. Until black is just a minor, minor color, or gone, the Jags will never have an upgraded jersey.

The Jags are right though, I never see their jerseys and think Jags. I always need to know who's playing or see a player first. The black jersey's didn't give it away at first look, unlike other teams.

If they banned the all-black, then it wouldn't be so bad. The all-black is hideous, which is the combo I'm talking about. The black jerseys themselves aren't too shabby. Not great, but manageable with white pants.
