Jaguars release troubled Matt Jones

As an aside.. it's a safe bet Chris Mortensen will never be confused for a scout..

Jones is a freak. Let's just remind you of his measurables again, as now officially recorded from his scouting combine and pro day workouts.

Matt Jones won't be among the top 10 players selected in the April 23-24 draft, but I will venture to say that he'll play in more Pro Bowls than almost any of those guys.

ok i am noticing a trend in this trade and i have to butt my two cents in.

As a huge Jaguars fan, from day 1 and the coin flip, I will say that i am high disappointed in Matt Jones. The guy has shown in several games and at different points that he can be a impact go to guy. The problem with him is he was a first rounder. He didnt need to be. Matt Jones should have either A.) stayed as a QB where he Excelled at Ark. or he should have been brought along slowly. With the release of Jimmy Smith back in the days when Matt jones first came aboard, the Jaguars seriously missed a great chance at bringin along a WR the proper way. By giving him somoene to look up to and learn from.

This just bolsters the chance of the Jaguars going after Crabtree or Macklin in the draft. With a depth chart that now has Walker and Northcutt as the top WR's on the team the Jaguars are in desperate need of a WR in the draft and i pray they take the time and look at the best choice and grab one of the two guys i mentioned.

The sad part is Matt Jones is going to catch on somewhere and he is going to clean up his act. With the Addition of Tra Thomas at OL the Jaguars are just making thier offense better, all we need is a WR or two and to start playing FOOTBALL and stop worryin about money and who is gettin what or who aint gettin it.
