his sliders are quite similar to my own, really similar actually.

i however play on 15min/25AC and on Slow (i'm one of those weirdo's that likes it)


the bigger difference with what that guy did was CPU sliders. his CPU sliders almost match up with his user sliders, where mine aren't quite like that. his special teams and penalty sliders are the same as mine, although I don't boost clipping as that penalty is retarded and doesn't happen enough in the NFL for me to want to see it every game. boosting punt accuracy was huge tho, as the CPU will stop sucking so hard at punting and you will get pinned from time to time.


it's pretty fun tho. i love how excited i get when I see Davis break a corner route with a step on the defender, so I try and place it just ahead and end up over throwing him by like 5 yards. or having Morgan come across on an in cut and firing it right by everyone.

i've been toying with the speed threshold to prevent too many plays with YAC yards, that guy left it at 50 tho.

i'm still tweaking away myself, much work to do, but this is where I am at.

15 min / 25 AC (120 offensive plays give or take, which is legit)
Injuries - 55 (10 games into my season at 50 I had ZERO injuries while all other teams had 2-7 players banged up. I've bumped it to 55 only recently so I'm not sure if this is enough)
Speed - Slow (although I plan on going back to normal when I get into my 2nd season)
Speed Threshold - 50 (i've not toyed with this yet, but may get into this later on..)

Penalties

everything at 99 (although you'll rarely see them called) except

Holding - 53 (don't use the Ask Madden default when picking FG!!)
Facemask - 55
Clipping - 52


Human Sliders

Passing 23/20/35 (I have far too many YAC so I'm working to correct this, but Throwing % is spot on and I get pressure up in my face pretty damn quick at times)
Rushing 37/30/42 (I don't consider myself good at rushing)
Pass D 33/7/50 (I still will get INT's on D, but they don't happen every game. I'm in the bottom 3rd of the league in sacks, which I should be)
Rush D 9/22/22 (I player lock on MLB on D and NEVER switch off. I've had long gains against me, I've had backs churn out consistent 4-8 yard runs. Good running teams can eat my ass provided they stick to the run)

CPU Sliders

Special Teams

Punt Power 55
Punt Accuracy 100 (really aids the CPU punting and helps avoid those guaranteed 20 yard shanks when the punt near midfield (how the fuck haven't they fixed this yet?!?!))

All those 4 games were on the above settings. Clearly I need to reduce the YAC yards as that's where the majority of Smith's yardage comes from. My problem is that the CPU D blitzes 6-7 men far too often on passing downs, they get to me within 1-2 secs but dumping off to Davis over the middle is so piss easy when they do this and I'll usually have a ton of room to gain yards.

I'm still working on getting things the way I want it, passing is a challenge (if I'm not careful I'm fucked with INT's, hitting targets can be challenging but the YAC kills that challenge right now), rushing is a challenge (I've not touched my rushing game all year, I've had 1 game over 200 yards and a couple games under 50), pass D is tough (the CPU isn't robo at all, they get sacked, they miss targets and such) and run D can be tough at times (more longer runs than churning out consistent yardage but it's not that bad where I'm at now).




Going forward I'm going to look at ways to

a) make it harder to gain yards after the catch
b) increase the challenge of putting points up (I don't score a ton, but as the 49ers I should struggle even further)
c) reduce INT's a touch further (after that 5 INT game vs the bears i altered the CPU INT slider to where it is)




Lastly, I have a few "house rules" that I go by to keep balance when playing the CPU.

- Stay in the pocket when passing. It's easy vs the CPU to avoid sacks by moving around a ton. The CPU doesn't do it much, so I don't do it vs them much. Only and only when the situation calls for it.
- My primary read is my...primary read! I played some QB in my time so I naturally know where my progressions are and like to do this in game.
- I don't call the same play more than two or three times in a game, rarely ever 3 times. In the past I used to force myself to pick out of Madden's options, but he doesn't utilize the whole playbook.
- Player lock on D. I always roll with Willis from start to finish. Always do my assignment on each play.
- Fair Catches/Touchbacks. Any kickoff 2 or more yards deep, I kneel. Any punt I catch inside the 8-20 yard line I'll usually fair catch if any threat is around. In the NFL you see this quite often cause nobody wants to risk coughing up the ball in that area...usually ends up in lost jobs. Punts inside the 8 I let go and hope for a touchback.


Umm that pretty much sums up how I roll vs the CPU.

A suggestion would be to try this out in a test chise, play about 12-16 games and tweak the settings every 4 games so you can catch on to trends. If you are happy with what you got you could keep playing, or restart with your altered settings at the end of the season.

Ok am I missing something or I don't have the human sliders option? I see Player Skill where I can set Custom/My skill/Rookie/Pro/All-pro/Madden.

I was able to change the CPU sliders no problem.

Change the difficulty to custom, then click on each individual thing like Pass, Rush, Pass Defense, and Rush defense

Ok..........so I went ahead, and tried these sliders for a couple games. I didn't enjoy them, everygame was a goddamn shootout. So instead, I tweaked the CPU sliders and did the madden test a couple times. This last time seems to be perfect.

I have 12 min atrs, with the playclock at 20 secs.

I pretty much left the CPU sliders the way Killgod has em, but kept 2 pts higher on CPU passing sliders, and rushing sliders, otherwise it was getting crazy.

I also turned down the CPU Pass and Rush defense recognition to 60 and 55, its hard enough for me to throw the ball, with KG's settings.

I left the INT slider at 15, its perfect there. The LB/DL INTs are not happening, and DBs are realistic too. The pass rush is perfect at KG's setting for CPU.

I played three games now in season...........

Vs. Cowboys 38-35 Win OT

I pretty much screwed the pooch on a defensive call, and Witten brought the game within 3, the Cowgirls got the onside and hit a FG to tie it, I won it OT with a FG, after about 2 holding calls. The Dallas Pass Rush was unbelievable, they sacked me 5x and hit me on almost every throw attempt. McNabb only passed for 200 yds, but Westbrook at 211 yds rushing and 80 yds receiving, 5 Total Tds. The dude was unstoppable.

At Chargers 54-10 Win

This was a crazy game for my pass offense, McNabb threw for over 400 yds, and 4 TDs, and 1 Int. No cheese, River's tried to close it up, but TOs killed SD and their Defense was a sieve in the second half. Westbrook had 150 yds Rushing and 30 Rec before breaking his wrist. McCoy did great afterwards. Kevin Curtis has 110 yds with 2 Tds, and Desean had 91 yds and a TD.

At Bears 20-10 Win

This game was rough. McNabb only passed for 195 yds and a TD. But McCoy had 110 yds rushing, 1 TD and 40 yds Rec 1 TD. He had 1 rush for 59 yds. This game was a crazy defensive struggle, the Bears redzone was was next to nothing, eventhough Cutler threw for 295 yds. The Bears even blocked an XP on my TD in the 4th qtr. Couple drops by Desean killed drives, Urlacher was a menace too with 2 Ints on Deep zones. Hester was out, otherwise I think he woulda burned me on a deep TD for sure.

So as you all can see, each game there has been a different outcome, with a shootout vs Dallas, like last years first game, to a beatdown of a sieve of a Pass D in SD to a struggle in Chicago. Overall, I think the players stats are coming up realistic vs different teams.

To summarize, I took the madden test a couple times to make it consistent and then setup the CPU sliders close to KG's keeping in mind, what level I am at already with playing the CPU.
