I can now confirm Bergfors, Oduya, a 1st round pick, and Mattias Tedenby are headed to the Thrashers for Kovalchuk.

Bergfors is good. Oduya is nothing were going to miss, 1st rounder and a prospect. I'll take it for kovo as long as they get him under contract which I feel they will get done.

Basically the deal has 3 first rounders... Bergfors, Tedenby and the 1st round pick (which is going to be a late pick). They are obviously going for the playoffs in high stride now.

I dunno if they will sign him though. New Jersey from what I hear sucks to play in since its so quiet but Lou there can swing a good deal.

A quiet hockey town suits Kovalchuk nicely. But I expect he will test free agency because the Devils will surely not give him what he is asking for.

That is totally accurate. The Thrashers got junk. Should never have even spoke to the Devils. So many better trading partners out there.

I find it interesting that the Devils were willing to make this trade considering their history of an unwillingness to pay big money to players. I cant see the Devils shelling out 10+ mill a season for Kovy. If hes just a rental player this is a steep price to pay without winning a cup.

Well no but Waddell was saying the whole time he wanted good players to play right away. Many thought Frolov was that guy from the kings. A pack like Frolov, Doughty and some picks were what was being expected.

Cormier - Pretty good player. Has to stop being an idiot.

Bergfors - 1st round pick in 2005. Only 22 and this year is his first full year in the league. He can turn into a 20+ goal scorer at the least.

Oduya is allright and the first round pick.

The devils won this easy right now but you have to wait and see whats going happen because if kovy doesn't sign with the devils in the offseason then the thrashers basically got 3 first rounders for sending kovy off.

If he signs though. lol devils win.

No it's not. They can replace what they've lost in one free agency signing and a few call ups from Lowell.
