Kurt Warner Tracking Thread - Two seasons to go.

Since Kurt Warner's career is winding down, I figured that I would post something I've been tracking for a while now - Kurt Warner's career 300 yard passing games. He's already given me, as a fan, three highly memorable superbowl's, so there's only one more thing I want from the man.... and that's to end his career, with more 300 yard passing games, than Dan Marino. Dan Marino is without a doubt, one of my most despised players of all-time. Seeing this slimy little bastard fail to win a superbowl, was one of the finer moments of my life, at least when it comes to the sporting side of my life. Am I saying Marino is bad, or not dominant? Not at all, he was great.

But, to see a former grocery store clerk, surpass him as one of the most dominant quarterbacks of all-time, with far fewer NFL games, and with two of the worst franchises in NFL history, would just simply seal the deal. There wouldn't be anything else, again, sporting wise, that would ever top that. So, the countdown begins.

Here's the current list, postseason included, of course.

Most career 300-yard passing games by NFL quarterbacks.

1. Dan Marino - 67 (Postseason included)
2. Brett Favre - 61 (Postseason included)
3. Peyon Manning - 61 (Postseason included)
4. Dan Fouts - 56 (Postseason included)
5. Kurt Warner - 56 (Postseason included)

Games played....

Kurt Warner - 112 games.
Dan Marino - 258 games.

As dominant as Kurt Warner has been, in his short career, he only has a little over a season and a half to surpass Dan Marino, so it's going to be a close call. Kurt Warner should be able to pass Dan Fouts this weekend against the Titans, if of course, he's as healthy as he says he is. If he fails to pass Dan Marino, passing Dan Fouts is the next best thing, which shouldn't be too difficult. When it's all said and done, I expect both Peyton Manning and Kurt Warner to be at the #1 and #2 spots, as the most dominant quarterbacks in NFL history, which is more than complimentary to Kurt Warner, since I have nothing but respect for Peyton Manning.

But Dan Marino, and, LOL, Dan Fouts have got to go.

It's not about 300-yard games being the sole reason of Warner's dominance, if that's what you're reading into this, because the list of reasons he's one of the most dominant quarterbacks in recent memory, is amazingly long.

This is a stat, that I've been interested in for a while now. Say what you want about Dan Fouts, but he's done at least one thing that impressed me... and looking at the list, Kurt Warner isn't in bad company. Didn't Warren Moon get inducted into the hall of fame for being a black guy who threw for a lot of yards? Had to be, because he was a completely worthless sack of shit, when it came to winning football games. Warren Moon is like 6th on the list of 300 yard passers.

good job warner for having that many 300 yrd games, but he still is not as good of QB as you make him out to be. He's good in fact he is really good. He still wouldn't be any where near that list if he wasnt throwing to holt/bruce/faulk and Fitz/Boldin/Breaston his career. In the end though he put himself in that position by winning the trust of Vermiel and then taking the chance signing with the cards so all in all he gets my respect.

Warner is HOF, without a doubt. I wouldn't take anything away from him for throwing at 3 HOF caliber guys who were proven before Warner showed up, and continued to play HOF caliber football after he left. Nor would I take anything away from him for landing on a team with one proven pro-bowl WR (Boldin) and a rising star (Fitz).
I'll never slight a HOF player for playing with other possible HOFers. It's just not fair and I won't do it.

Continue counting down, even if you don't need to. Warner is rolling into the HOF when he hangs em up...most likely in a wheel chair, but he's rolling in nonetheless.

The Detroit Lions won 7 games in 2007, with a top 10 passing offense under Mike Marts/Jon Kitna. Jon Kitna simply made too many mistakes in key situations. If Mike Martz had Kurt Warner in '07, they not only make the playoffs, but Mike Martz would still have a job. And 95% of you would be claiming that ''Megatron'' is the best WR in football...... which he is not.

Would Detroit be in the situation that Arizona is currently in now? Probably not, but they'd certainly be a solid playoff contender, and they wouldn't have sniffed that 0-16 record.

Just for the record, no one was more disappointed than I was, when Detroit showed no interest in picking up Kurt Warner back in 2005. That's where I wanted him to sign. Passing on Kurt Warner, and firing Mike Martz after a 7-9 record, is just two of the reasons the Detroit Lions are fucking failures, and will be for a long time.

Well, not until Warner retires, and the truth is revealed when Fitz goes back to being the 4-12 player that he is, while catching for 100 yards maybe like once per season.

When Kurt Warner was healthy, Marshall Faulk had his best seasons - when Kurt Warner started suffering from injury set backs in, what? 2002? Marshall Faulk never again saw a 1,000 yard season. I know, I know, let's put the blame on whoever the fuck the Colts quarterback was prior to Peyton Manning... But using your theory, a running back like Marshall Faulk, should have been able to carry, well, just about any quarterback, right?

in case you missed it the rams brought in Faulk/Holt the yr warner came in. Ithink it was a different rams team talent wise....

my question really wasn't saying that. it to the point where Nuk believes the rams and cards are good only because of warner, and not because of the whole. The theory at this forum is, that Kurt Warner needed Marshall Faulk. Some people even insist that Marshall Faulk carried Kurt Warner. I'm telling you right now, Kurt Warner can win with the worst running back in the NFL. A running game is a much needed asset for a quarterback like Eli Manning - It's only complimentary to guys like Warner, Manning and Brady.

I love Marshall Faulk, believe me. He's the only male I know, that kisses Warner's ass as much as I do.. But Kurt Warner didn't enter the perfect situation in 1999 - Marshall Faulk did.
