Jerry Jones didn't give Orton, who is supposed to be a backup QB, a $5 million signing bonus for nothing. Another interesting story that popped up Monday was that extension talks between Romo and the Cowboys to help lower his $16.8 cap hit next season. Obviously you all see where I am going with this. I can definitely see Orton possibly getting time if Romo doesn't come back strong over the next couple weeks.

Romo had one awful game. A game where his WRs were the direct cause of 2 INTs.

The only way Orton gets time is if Romo goes down with an injury. Orton was given money so we had a competent backup and not some scrub like Jon Kitna or Stephen Mcgee.

IMO ability wise Romo is the least of this team's problem; however, while 2 of the interceptions weren't his the other 3....eh. Romo has to do a better job of leading this team. Dallas has the pieces to be better than a .500 team, but they lack the leadership amongst the players. When a game is going downhill Romo being the QB and franchise guy has to be careful with his throws and he has to be able to sense when his team needs a lift. Some one has to say, "This isn't going to happen....not like this!" and do something about it.

Garrett needs to hold Bryant accountable for that incorrect route running that led to a Tillman TD. Bench that fucker for a qtr.

I would like to see Romo in a smaller market team.

Oh, the other 3 were all on Romo. That one where he basically pitched it to Briggs made me scratch my head for a while. He also had 2 pretty horrendous overthrows. But then again, he had a few perfect throws that his WRs just didn't hold onto.

Even though he threw 5 INTs, Dallas was a few close plays from the game being completely different. Claiborne's strip, Hester's TD, and Marshalls push-off on that big 3rd down in the 4th quarter that led to the FG to go up 3 scores.

In the end, the Bears made all the big plays and Dallas wasn't able to capitalize on anything.

Look man, you know how Jerry Jones can work this, just the same as Daniel Snyder would have worked this up until a couple years ago. Hell, Brad Johnson took the Redskins to their first playoff appearance since Joe Gibbs I, and they responded by giving a lucrative deal to Jeff George. I also said if Romo strung together another game or two of bad play, which normally doesn't happen with him, but we'll have to wait and see.
