From the vibe of online articles, father seems a little too involved and overstepping his boundaries.
Vibe on this guy keeps getting worse. Support staff members are sick of him and ready for him to go. Described as a cocky, me-guy.
Loves football, FBI is high as well. Everything has been pretty well-documented in online articles about the kid, but sources say he’s a spoiled brat (grandfather gives him allowance, father bought him luxury car).

Knows how to scheme the system, arrogant and full of himself, but he’s not smug to coaches. Has been like this since Day 1, has never gone to class, goes to beat of own drum, but has ultimate confidence.


On how his teammates view him:

Teammates don’t dislike him, but there’s some resentment, more so in the offseason when he isn’t coming to workouts and they are busting their butt.

2007 AFC draft grades

Cleveland Browns: OK, the trade for Brady Quinn was a little expensive. Giving up a first-round pick in 2008 could come back to haunt the Browns if it's a top-10 selection. However, that pick was probably going to be used on a quarterback next year. In that sense, the Browns are getting their quarterback a year earlier. To also get left tackle Joe Thomas thus makes this an extremely strong effort. Cornerback Eric Wright is a character risk, but he might be the most talented of anyone at his position in this draft. The rest of the picks are all solid prospects.
Grade: A-

2005

Cleveland Browns: B

You can't argue with the Browns taking the best player available at No. 3 in Braylon Edwards even though they have other needs. If safety Brodney Pool gets back to the stellar form he showed as a sophomore he will pan out nicely, quarterback Charlie Frye has the skills you want in a quarterback despite the fact that he throws a wobbly ball on occasion.

2012

No. 22 - QB Brandon Weeden - For weeks we've seen Weeden as a great fit for the Browns at No. 37 overall. The problem is Weeden is the last QB in the draft after RG3 that most front office folks believe can start games early if called on. The Browns really want to find competition for Colt McCoy. If they don't get Weeden here, they risk losing him. They know they can still get a good player early in Round 2. I think you secure the QB here.

CANTON, Ohio - The Cleveland Browns have been busy shooting down reports that owner Jimmy Haslam ordered the team's selection of quarterback Johnny Manziel, and Monday it came from Haslam himself.

Speaking to a packed house at the Hall of Fame Luncheon Club, Haslam said he needed to address "a rumor...that I had influenced the decision."

Haslam admitted to thinking "it was very important" that the Browns select a quarterback but said it was general manager Ray Farmer's decision to first trade down with Buffalo and that it was Farmer's decision to trade back up and select Manziel at pick No. 22.

"It was solely Ray's call, not mine," Haslam said.

They have a criminal owner and after firing Rob Chud after only a year on the job and before Pettine took the job the Cleveland Browns head coaching job was thought to be toxic. This organization is only 15 going on 16 years old and has made the playoffs only once, have 0 division titles and countless draft busts. They are one of the worst franchises in the NFL.
