2010 NFL Mock Draft
1. St. Louis Rams- Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame

Like I said before, The Rams are rebuilding and the only way to really get a fresh start is to draft a franchise QB. With Jake Locker staying at Washington, it's slim pickings for the Rams front office. Clausen will develop into a decent QB but not a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning.
2. Tampa Bay Bucs- Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska

The real need in Tampa is a Wide Reciever to help Josh Freeman develop but Dez Bryant is not a value pick here. Tampa needs to continue to create a better pass rush and a DE would be a good pick here too but just like Dez, there isn't any DE that is worth of the 2 pick. Suh should be able to contribute immediately and is likely the best player in the draft.
3. Cleveland Browns- Eric Berry, S, Tennessee

The Browns seem to be content with Brady Quinn under center. There are a lot of needs for the Browns including pass rush help. You might think its not a problem after their beating they put on the Steelers but that was a once in a lifetime thing. Berry is one of the most talented players in the draft and should help the secondary right away.
4. Detroit Lions- Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State

I believe that Matthew Stafford will have a lot of say as to where the Lions go with this pick. The offense will continue to improve if the front office makes a smart choice and takes the best OT on the board. He is also one of the best players in the draft and is a very safe pick to protect Matthew Stafford. For all I care, the team can move Jeff Backus's fat ass to the right side.
5. Kansas City Chiefs- Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland

Kansas City is in need of someone to protect Matt Cassell. Bruce Campbell is a fine tackle who should get the job done. There aren't too many more pressing needs than tackle but the team could definitely look at fixing their secondary.
6. Washington Redskins- Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma

Dan Snyder will never fail to amaze me. He is the second coming of Al Davis. Instead of fixing the offensive line that is... well... offensive, he is going to fix the problem by changing QB's. Go get em Dan.
7. Oakland Raiders- Taylor Mays, S, USC

Al Davis never fails to shock everyone. Taylor Mays stock has fallen so badly this season but Al Davis is gonna look at that power and speed he has and fall in love. BUT!!! Taylor Mays will likely develop into a decent safety and if used properly he will be able to get pressure in the running and passing game. Too bad he won't be known for his coverage skills.
8. Seattle Seahawks- Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma

Seattle is in serious need to fix their offensive line. Seriously, Matt Hasselbeck can only make so many passes lying on his back. Trent should be able to fill in nicely and develop in the zone blocking schemes they run out there on the west coast. QB is another option but there isn't anyone on the board worth taking here.
9. Denver Broncos (from Chicago)- Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama

Denver needs more help at linebacker and McClain will be able to be the second ILB or move to the outside to cause more of a pass rush. In a 3-4 system run by Josh McDaniels there can never be too many linebackers.
10. Buffalo Bills- Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers

The tackles will continue to fly off the boards to teams in need of one. With the loss of Jason Peters last year, the Bills are in need of someone to fill that void. Anthony Davis kind of feels like a reach here but there won't be anyone in the second round worthy of taking that can fill in right away.
11. San Francisco (From Carolina)- Joe Haden, CB, Florida

Mike Singletary has a lot of room with this pick. He has another one shortly and will probably want to get value for this pick and take Joe Haden to make his secondary that much better. He has to take a look at Gerald McCoy who is still on the board but I don't think McCoy will be a good NT but a better DT.
12. Pittsburgh Steelers- Earl Thomas, S, Texas

I think losing all these games is finally gonna pay off. Earl Thomas is a rare talent and will be a blessing to the Steelers. Imagine him and Troy together playing deep. No team will dare pass deep on them.
13. San Francisco 49ers- Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa

This should be the last tackle taken in the first round and probably the last one with first round talent. Amazingly Gerald McCoy is still on the board and he is falling right now for no good reason but the 49ers have no need for him like they have a need for Bulaga to help bolster the offensive line.
14. Atlanta Falcons- Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech

OLB is a big need for Falcons but Morgan probably won't play that position. Mike Smith will put him at DE and will more than likely find positive results. Pass rush is a big need for Atlanta and Morgan should be able to help.
15. Houston Texans- Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma

The Texans can not pass up on a top five talent. They just can't. They may have took Amobi Okoye a few years ago but how lucky can you get to have three first round picks on your defensive line that will help generate a pass rush against Peyton Manning? McCoy falls to the Texans for no good reason and the Texans reap the benefits.
16. Tennessee Titans- Patrick Robinson, CB, Florida State

The Titans have a "franchise QB" in Vince Young. pfffttt... a franchise game manager is more like it. But as long as they win some of their games with him their defense and Chris Johnson can keep them in games. The addition of Patrick Robinson will help their secondary. Robinson will likely be a franchise #2.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars- Tim Tebow, QB, Florida

This will be a giant head scratcher but all Jax fans know this is likely where we'll go with this pick. Chances are he won't pan out at the NFL level as an every down QB but he is gonna sell the fuck out of tickets.
18. Baltimore Ravens- Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State

The Ravens don't have any WR's set to return next year and for good reason. Flacco is going to need a true #1 to continue to develop and Dez can be that guy. Stupid NCAA violations aside, Dez is a very gifted athlete and is possibly a future pro bowler. I don't care what anyone says, he has no character issue.
19. New York Jets- Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame

Braylon Edwards most likely won't be back next year after his proof of unreliable hands. Golden Tate has a lot of talent and is raw so time to develop is a must. Jericho Cotchery will have to go back to #1 until Tate can learn the NFL game but this will pay off later down the road.
20. New York Giants- Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida

Who knows where Antonio Pierce sits after his season ending injury. Spikes is young and has all the tools to be better than Pierce. With the way the defense in New York has been going I'm sure they could shuffle either Pierce or Spikes around to make room for the both of them.
21. Miami Dolphins- Terrance Cody, NT, Alabama

New England has Vince Wilfork and who does Miami have? Jason Ferguson and he is old as fuck. It is rare to find a talented NT in first round worthy of a top half pick. Parcells will jump all over him (no homo).
22. Arizona Cardinals- Sergio Kindle, DE/OLB, Texas

Arizona is in need of someone to bring pressure in the 3-4 scheme. Most everyone in the linebacking core is old as dog shit. Kindle will be able to get a lot of pressure on the QB and stop the runningback dead. Arizona would be stupid not to take him.
23. Dallas Cowboys- Damien Williams, WR, USC

The Roy Williams experiment has failed miserably in Dallas. Miles Austin emerged as a potential #1 but they can't just have him. Damien Williams is a talented wideout and should be able to stretch the field and get to the jump ball with his decent size.
24. Seattle Seahawks (from Denver)- CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson

The ACC player of the year will move all the way from the Atlantic Coast to the North West. Jahvid Best would be another player to think about but his concussions will cause a lot of second guessing. Seattle will go with a safe pick here and take CJ Spiller who should be able to stretch the field with his speed and agility.
25. New England Patriots- Navorro Bowman, OLB, Penn State

The Patriots defense will continue to get younger with another linebacker. Adalius Thomas and Bill aren't getting along at the current moment and there could be a splitting of the ways in the offseason but that is unlikely. Bowman is a talented linebacker that plays in a 4-3 but with a little time could learn the 3-4.
26. Green Bay Packers- Donovan Warren, CB, Michigan

The Packers need help on the offensive line but yet there isn't anyone this late in the first round to warrent that pick. Woodson is having an MVP year but outside of him there isn't much else. Donovan Warren is a good corner who is already used to playing in cold ass weather but that isn't the selling factor for him. He is great in coverage and given time will develop into a very good corner.
27.Cincinnati Bengals- Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma

Sorry JP Foschi, you're not gonna cut it as a TE. Gresham is a HUGE player and will get the passing game back on track. Injuries are a problem but if he can kick that then there is no ceiling for this guy. Carson Palmer will instantly fall in love with him.
28. Philadelphia Eagles- Bruce Carter, OLB, North Carolina

The Eagles don't have many needs on either side of the ball but adding depth to a position that generates a lot of pass rush in Andy Reid'd defense is a smart move. Carter is a very talented linebacker and will bring more youth to a defense that is getting younger.
29. San Diego Chargers- Dan Williams, NT, Tennessee

A lot of experts have him above Terrance Cody but I think he'll fall because of Cody's playmaking ability. But Dan Williams is an absolute monster in the trenches and will be a more than capable replacement for Jamaal Williams.
30.Minnesota Vikings- Arthur Jones, DT, Syracuse

The Vikings interior D-line is getting old. If they plan on continuing to compete for more years to come it would be wise to find a replacement. Arthur Jones is a super talented DT who can come in on certain situations his first year to get a better grip on NFL speed and eventually become a monster on the line later in his career.
31. New Orleans Saints- Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, USF

Pierre-Paul was having an outstanding year and pretty much stole the spotlight from the whole defense. The Saints have proven that as a unit a semi-talented defense can play well together. Add another cog into the defense with Pierre-Paul and you have yourself an even more talented defense.
32. Indianapolis Colts- Jason Fox, OT, Miami

Tony Ugoh is blah and might end up backing someone up or moving to another position on the OL. Jason Fox should come in and be able to start to help protect Manning's blindside. He is a bit risky but the dividends could be numerous if he succeeds.
