Let Me In / Let the Right One In

Anyone else pumped for this movie? For those that don't know, Let Me In is based on the Swedish book/movie Let the Right One In. If you happen to see the Swedish version, it is an absolutely amazing and interesting horror film.

It is not the typical horror film by any means, but I do expect to see some changes for the American version. The Swedish film was rated in the Top 100 Films of World Cinema (#15) and as the #1 ranked film in the Top 20 Horror Films of the Last Decade. Here is the American trailer:

The original was great, but if did have some parts that could be improved upon. The American version is ditching the question of the vampire's sexuality, which the Swedish version touched upon lightly, but not nearly as much as the book. I think that is a good thing.

Also, by the look of it, the American version is going to flesh out the Vampire's helper a little more, which is good because it was very interesting in the book, but hardly even mentioned in the Swedish version.

Lets hope so. Taking a slightly different angle from the book to movie would be nice. The book is great.

''Let The Right One in'' is one of my favorite films of that year. I'm hearing good things about ''Let Me in,'' but there's very little reason for me to bother with it. I can just pop in the original, and enjoy an excellent film.

They did a great job casting this movie, so I'm interested. There's no way this movie is better than the original, but that's not to say it won't be good.

yeah but they have said they will be trying to reach a wider audience which means that they will probably not use a lot of the things that were in the book that would be more controversial in the US, outside of maybe an unrated DVD version. I have low expectations for the US version as I fully expect them to dumb it down make it faster and more for the scare than for the suspense. Just like the remake of the Crazies, however I am in the minority on that from what I have read.
