which is some what strange because joe blow just bleed guy boo's at every fight that hits the ground and gets an erection over Griffin/Bonnar

They want 'stand up wars', but love watching unskilled guys swinging like toughmen

it's probably the douche bag image that US MMA promotes that people love, it is more about image than anything to thr masses, Tapout, Affliction, etc...are a big part of the MMA image, the fights sometimes are secondary

I think it's more the 21-30 year old male, who likes to pay $75 for t-shirts, has spikey hair, and drives a Mustang.

The cross over prowres guy gets from MMA what prowres hasnt delivered to him in many years - this guy hates this guy, this is why, and now they are going to fight. Better still when there is a BIG GOLD BELT at stake.

Prowres guy likes the build up, the rivalries, and the chase for the gold he used to get from prowres.

Don't forget that both MAX and the Heavyweights are both having their Final 16 fights this weekend. It should be glorious.

And yes, it is confusing (and disappointing) that kickboxing/Muay Thai isn't bigger considering the fans in MMA. K-1 used to have an interest in the States, but they stopped that really quick and Chuck Norris' WCL thing sucked.

If K-1 had a great US fighter there would probably more interest, but the problem there lies in the fact that kickboxing here is still a ways behind Europe, Thailand and Australia. It's hard to cultivate top talent in such a limited scene.

kick boxing not being big has nothing to do with MMA or the image they promote. Most fight fans simply like to see people exchange punches, which is why boxing is huge, or they want to see a fight, which is where MMA comes in. I think it's kinda ingrained in society that kicking is for girls, or you don't kick in fights. You ever see anyone throw a kick in a street fight? The K1 style is just not something that really resonates here in America, plus there's no type of promotion for it either.
