LSU and TCU will face off in the 2013 Cowboys Classic at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, both schools announced this afternoon. The game will be played on Saturday, Aug. 31 and will be televised by ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
The season-opener next season will be the ninth meeting between LSU and TCU. LSU leads the overall series 5-2-1, but the two schools haven’t played since 1968.
As part of the game contract, LSU and TCU will play this game only and will not complete the home-and-home series they initially agreed to back in 2006. LSU was set to host TCU on Sept. 7, 2013 and then travel to face the Horned Frogs on Sept. 6, 2014.
LSU still needs one more non-conference game on their 2013 schedule. The Tigers are also slated to host UAB on Sept. 14 and Furman on Oct. 26.
TCU was previously scheduled to open the 2013 season vs. Southeastern Louisiana on Aug. 31. A new date for that game is to be determined. The Horned Frogs are also set to host SMU on Sept. 28.

Ohio State is the first opponent scheduled for the Horned Frogs for both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
