Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - Orlando Magic guard Jameer Nelson underwent further tests Tuesday after suffering a dislocated right shoulder during Monday's game against Dallas and additional results revealed a torn labrum.
Nelson was hurt with 9:11 left in the third quarter of Monday's 105-95 loss to the Mavericks. He collided with Dallas center Erick Dampier while chasing down a loose ball.
The Magic said a course of treatment has yet to be determined and a timetable for his return is unknown.
Nelson scored six points before leaving Monday's game and is averaging 16.7 points with 5.4 assists in 42 games this season. He is also the team's top three-point shooter at 45.3 percent.
The Saint Joseph's product was selected to play in this month's All-Star Game, but could miss the February 15 contest in Phoenix because of the injury.

Yeah, the good thing about it is he should be back in time for playoffs and such. With the way the Magic have been playing, they'll be fine, and Jameer will be back in the lineup during the playoffs.

HUGE blow for the Magic.. hes IMO the biggest reason for the Magic's leap in the standings this year. The Magic will need to bring in another shooting PG IMO, thats what works in that offense.

Orlando Magic all-star point guard Jameer Nelson faces shoulder surgery -- at some point this year -- while his contending team faces the likelihood of playing without him for the rest of the season. Magic General Manager Otis Smith said on Tuesday that the club and Nelson are still evaluating whether Nelson possibly could return to play in "two to six weeks" if he rehabilitated the injury through physical therapy, thus delaying season-ending surgery until the offseason. "Either way," Smith said, "he's going to have to have it repaired."

VC's and JJ's stats are better though. Imo Vince should go. JJ's stats are slightly better than VC's, but VC's stats per 48 minutes are better.

JJ is in, so should VC.

True, but Cavs - Mo should be relatively better than Nets - Vince.
Yeah, the Cavs are better now with Mo Williams than last year without him, but you can't say that about Vince, because he's been around for quite some time. That's just not a good argument in my book.

And statwise...Mo is a point guard and he's averaging less assists per game than Carter. Okay, he's a shoot first point guard...but he's also averaging less points per game.

Valid points Onez, Carter is averaging better points per game and assist per game. On a statistical level yes, Carter deserves the spot. What stats don't account for is look who has the better teammates? Carter isn't playing second fiddle, he's the man in New Jersey, whose the man in Cleveland? Not Mo Williams.
