most people probably dont know this one is not a 360 exclusive. it must really suck to only own a ps3
this game is gonna be awesome. i hope they add back the rpg aspects they took away from ME2
 
The trailer wasn't even that hot. Im excited for the game, but please don't tell me that trailer was epic.
 
The trailer was a better version of Resistance 1 (when they were in Europe), only decades into the future and Commander Shepard tacked on at the end as McHale couldn't cut the muster apparently.

I highly doubt they'd have mega-boss battles all the time in-game but it'd be cool to see Joker and Co. go apeshit using the Normandy on some hulking robot.
 
Dude, I'm as big of a Mass Effect fan as they'll come, but that was by far the worst trailer they have shown of any mass effect game. Every single trailer for the second game was epic. Mass Effect 1 trailer was epic, but that was a 30 trailer of what I expected. A teaser is supposed to surprise you like what they did with the Shepard KIA one.
 
your talking about a game thats a year away. i am sure they have better video to show but imo what they showed speaks volumes.

you see a guy beaten and bloody sniping to save human lives followed by a pan out shot of the earth under siege by reapers of which at least 10-20 were hovering over the earth. Then a shot that zooms in on one of the greatest game characters ever with his movement and body language saying im fucking pissed and gonna kick some ass!

not to mention that even though earth has always been in the series, you have never been able to step foot on the planet. So they just told everyone what some already knew and that is the game is moving to the earth and Shepperd will be saving mankind on our home field.

how is that not epic? that little teaser said a lot and showed a glimpse of how epic the game will be

and that resistance sucks. twigg has never even played Mass Effect.

i started a new ME1 play thru because i didnt get to absorb the game since i played it about a month before ME2. I am playing as an adept then I will carry that over to ME2 as an adept and then use that to carry to ME3

i am really curious how they will approach ME3 for people who lost shepard. are they going to just replace him or bring him back to life with some cerberus technology. Thats a big deal and needs to be approached by bioware as a big deal

If you lost Shepard in Mass Effect 2 you can not take that game and carry it over to ME3. Mass Effect is the story of Shepard, without him the story ends. If Shepard died at the end of ME2 he is dead for good and thats how his story ends.

I'm thinking if "your" Shepard bites it in ME2, Cerebus will step in with another clone or if you kept him alive for this long...

so much for my bid deal theory. i guess it makes sense though what archer posted. if its all about shep then u just cant carry over your save.

i dont want the series to end. you have to assume he will destroy the reapers in me3. but there is so much unexplored story they could move to after.....the protheans or rachni or even the feud between the quarian and geth. And then they also have all the evil that lurks out beyond citidel space....what do they call it the trevitium or something?
 
Well I do think they've explored the Protheans as far as they can (remember, they became Collectors, and the Reapers want to make Humans the new collectors because their DNA is so similar to the Protheans)...and I think that the Rachni will play a HUGE part in ME3 (there is just too much foreshadowing to it in ME2 when you talk with that asari chick). I do love the feud between the Quarians and the Geth, and I'm curious how Sheps decisions, particularly with the Quarian council and with Legion, will effect ME3.

My biggest fear from the word go about ME3 will be how on EARTH they can make it big enough. There are so many consequences to take into consideration between ME1 and ME2, I don't know HOW they can make ME3 and properly use them all. Most importantly, will there be ANY characters from ME1 or ME2 that can join my squad that could potentially die? Since you can lose everyone in ME2, it seems like it would be an unbelievable amount of work to configure a game that may or may not have them. Wrex or Ashley/Kaiden would be easier I think, but still, I don't want to lose characters like Talia, Jack, or Morden.

It's already confirmed that if he died in Mass Effect 2 you just wont be able to upload that saved file. If he dies than he dies you will need to start a new game.


Edit:
When it comes to Thane I think he will die in ME3 of his disease that he has and his son will take over, or something along those lines. Because we havent had a death in Mass Effect that the character couldnt control which would make the story awesomely emotional.
