Tough call but I think going with Spider. Id definitely give Manhoef a "punchers chance" tho.. if he can land clean on Anderson it would be good night Irene. But Anderson's head movement is top notch.. I think he'd avoid the big shot and either KO Melvin or squeek out a "dancing decision".

It would be a great style vs style match up, Manhoef is raw power and explosiveness, Silva is a counter striker with pin point precision

Manhoef has fought some of the best kickboxers in the world, Silva hasnt fought a really quality striker yet, fought some pretty good MMA strikers, but not the level that Melvin has faced and beat, KO'ing Hunt also who never gets KO'ed

Silva would have a nice reach advantage though

Accurate Anderson by somehow hitting the exact same spot on Melvin's jaw over and over again until he puts him out. I think he's too long and too elusive for Manhoef to land the clean shot and put him out. Still, Manhoef would have a solid chance because of his ridiculous power

I think the reach factor is overrated. Manhoef has routinely had a reach (and size) disadvantage in K-1 and has been successful. I don't see what Silva can do with his reach that's so much different from Karaev, Slowinski, and the others.

Manhoef by KO because Silva became to cocky beating sub par strikers in MMA, maybe in a rematch with some adjustments, but Melvin is to much for Silva at first

Manhoef would be the perfect opponent for Silva. Sure that highlight reel might look pretty, but lets see him do that against someone with some defense. Someone with good feet who knows how to avoid those haymakers, good counters, etc. If he fought like that against Anderson he'd lose.

well, he KO'd Mark Hunt, his resume of strikers are on par with what And1 has done

When you throw in his K-1 fights which this match up is with smaller gloves I would have to say Manhoef has beat much better strikers than Silva by a mile

Melvin Manhoef has routinely put fighers with good defense on their ass in K-1, and has pushed Remy Bonjasky (who has the best defense in the business) through his paces in the three matches they fought. He isn't throwing hands with cans now.

I haven't watched K1 in awhile, but as far as I know no they don't use the clinch. Don't they break the fighters after a few seconds of clinching? Plus you can't apply a thai clinch with K1 gloves as effective as you could with MMA gloves anyway.
