I'm looking forward to playing this on PC. I really liked Metro 2033, and if you have or plan on getting a gaming PC, you should really take up that offer to get a free copy of Metro 2033.

THQ Announces Metro: Last Light Limited Edition, Ranger Mode

THQ has revealed some more information about 4A Games' upcoming post-apocalyptic shooter, Metro: Last Light. If you preorder the game, you'll be able to get a special limited edition of it, which includes in-game bonuses and Metro 2033's punishing Ranger Mode.

The limited edition, which is available at no additional cost to people who preorder the game, includes several in-game extras. The first is a modified Russian rifle, the AKS-74U. The limited edition also includes Ranger Mode, which was available as DLC for Metro 2033. Players who take on this challenge will face reduced ammo availability and increased weapon damage, both from enemies' and Artyom's weapons. To help compensate for the difficulty spike, the limited edition includes the Ranger loadout. This essentially pads your wallet by providing additional military-grade bullets, which are the game's currency.

Ranger Mode also includes the Ranger Hardcore variant, which manages to increase the damage effects from Ranger Mode even further while also removing the game's HUD. You'll have to keep a close eye on your weapons for ammo counts, and avoid firing your weapons altogether if you can.

Metro: Last Light will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in March.

I don't understand why Ranger mode is a pre-order bonus though.

This is reportedly coming to PS4 (and presumably the next Xbox). Also, 5 DLCs and a season pass are planned as well as a multiplayer version.

I don't see a problem with offering a discount for people who really like the game. I was fine handing over money for the Borderlands 2 and Battlefield 3 season passes because I had a ton of fun with those games.

It's on the gamer to understand the risks you assume when you buy one (especially if you buy it before the first DLC is out). BF3 Premium worked out well for me. However, I'd probably have second thoughts about the BL2 season pass if I knew about the quality of the campaign DLCs, but that was a risk I took into account when I bought it.

They might have sold more if they put Metro 2033 on PS3, but over 1.5 million copies sold doesn't seem that bad for a new IP.

Depends on how much it cost to make but that doesn't sound too bad. Especially if there were probably several more digital sales that aren't reported for some dumb reason.

I really want to finally restart and finished 2033 so that I can give this a shot. I got stuck outside with a broken mask like 3/4 of the way through the game, just after an autosave, and didn't feel like going as far back as my previous save required. It deflated me. Maybe I'll just do an easy run (the story/atmosphere was really the reason I was playing it anyway -- found the shooting to be a bit clunky).

I have the Nvidia Geforce 660 TI on max settings for now. I haven't seen any hiccups or slowdowns yet but I have heard this game is heavy on graphic cards.

I have definitely seen the game have some frame rate issues in some of the bigger firefights. Nothing to make it unplayable but I have seen it. Curious to what your findings are. I'm not planning on upgrading my video card anytime soon unless I have issues with Titan Fall
