SALT LAKE CITY -- The fallout from Tuesday's eighth-inning brawl begins on Wednesday for the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes, as catcher Miguel Olivo was placed on the suspended list.

The length of the suspension for Olivo is not yet known, though the Dodgers said in a statement that he will "remain suspended pending the completion of an investigation into the dugout altercation during yesterday’s game at Salt Lake."

It might not be the only punishment awaiting Olivo for biting the ear of Alex Guerrero in the dugout on Tuesday. Guerrero declined to press criminal charges against Olivo with the Salt Lake City police department on Tuesday, per Steve Dilbeck of the Los Angeles Times, but still has four years to file charges if he so chooses.

The Isotopes made a corresponding move, adding infielder Alex Liddi to the roster. Liddi was signed by the Dodgers on May 16 and spent the last few days at extended spring training at Camelback Ranch in Arizona. Liddi, 25, hit .176/.203/.303 with three home runs in 22 games with Triple-A Charlotte before getting released by the White Sox on May 13.

Guerrero hasn't yet been placed on the disabled list by the Isotopes, but could miss considerable time after undergoing surgery on his ear. Carlos Triunfel starts at shortstop for Albuquerque on Wednesday, with Walter Ibarra at second base and Miguel Rojas at third base.

Miguel Olivo, who bit the ear of teammate Alex Guerrero in Triple-A Albuquerque's game on Tuesday morning in Salt Lake City, was interviewed in spring training by Telemundo.

Asked what he would do if he wasn't a baseball player, Olivo said (translated), "I would like to be a boxer like #MikeTyson but without biting an ear."

Of course his AAA numbers are inflated. That's not disputed. But that doesn't change that he was about to get called up to be a utility infielder anyways. They didn't sign the guy for 32 million to play in AAA for four years. They wanted him to get his minor league ABs and he got them. Not only that, he didn't disappoint. In fact, he is the top hitter on the AAA Isotopes, which includes Joc Pederson who is considered one of the top hitting prospects in the Dodgers organization right now. I'm not going to fact check, but I think he's the top hitter in the PCL for the time he's been playing (he was on the DL for a bit with an oblique strain).

Anyways, he was about to get called up. You dudes want to be assholes and say that the PCL numbers don't mean anything which is not true. Do they deserve an enormous grain of salt? Yes, of course. That's why I said PCLOL from the start. I don't know who this strawman is you guys are trying to embarrass. You can't see a guy OPSing out of his brain in the PCL and expect him to repeat the same numbers in the bigs. No one is doing that.
