This is the second of eight post-season polls. I will try to get them all up by the end of the week, with two going up each day.
Let's look at the NL, where the field was much stronger than the AL. There are many candidates worthy of nomination, but I expect this to be a two man race between Posey and Heyward.
Anyway, here are the nominees, it was hard to narrow it down to 5. Apologies to Ike Davis:
Starlin Castro, SS, Chicago Cubs
Key stats: 463 AB, 139 H, .300 BA, 31 2B, 53 R, 10 SB, .347 OBP
Jaime Garcia, LHP, St. Louis Cardinals
Key stats: 13-8 W-L, 163.1 IP, 132 K, 2.70 ERA, 1.32 WHIP
Jason Heyward, OF, Atlanta Braves
Key stats: 520 AB, 144 H, .277 BA, 18 HR, 72 RBI, .393 OBP, .848 OPS
Buster Posey, C, San Francisco Giants
Key stats: 406 AB, 124 H, .305 BA, 18 HR, 67 RBI, .505 SLG, .862 OPS
Gaby Sanchez, 1B, Florida Marlins
Key stats: 572 AB, 156 H, .273 AB, 19 HR, 85 RBI, .448 SLG, .788 OPS
