MLB Front Office Manager Coverage

I'm going to be getting my copy of MLB Front Office Manager tomorrow. What types of things would you guys like to see and/or know about the game?

As of now I'm planning on taking screenshots/videos as well as impressions on the career mode and online aspects. So if there are any specific videos/screenshots you would like to see or certain things you'd like to know about career mode or online, make sure to leave them here and I will try to address them when I'm writing up my articles.

Well no luck on getting the game today. Nowhere here had it, everyone is getting it in tomorrow. So I'll pick it up then and will have stuff up tomorrow afternoon/evening.

Ok so I have been playing it for about an hour so far. So much to do. I am still in my offseason. Arbitration, options, free agency etc... I bid on Texeira, lost. He went to Cleveland, CC went to the Twins (LOL) and Manny went to the Giants.

As of right now, no.

Have you experienced a lot of big name players getting traded?

No, I'm at the ASB in my first season and only 1 big name was traded. Miguel Tejada. The free agency and trades engine seem good. The Stats and record engine, not so much. I am 21-67 with the M's right now. No one on the team is hitting over .300. Not even Ichiro. None of my pitchers have an ERA below 4.95 or more than 3 wins. Not a good start. We will see.

what were the overall stats for the whole league. Like any really high HR totals etc...

Didnt look. I'm in the second season now. I signed Josh Beckett, and another solid FA pitcher. No solid hitter were on the market though. Another interesting thing I noticed was that Pujols was only a 55. WTF?

I'll let you know about the HR RBI totals in a bit.

Other than Santana kicking ass in ERA but not being in the top 5 in wins it looks solid.

Hmmm. Weird. So it turns out I did get fired. I got two job offers to continue as GM. The Astros and the.......Yankees. Weird. Why would they want a GM that lost 230 games in 2 seasons?

Alright just got home with a copy of the game in hand. I'll probably work on getting some screenshots and videos up first before working on impressions and write-ups.

you don't have too really, theres already a bunch of screenshots over the web, i can't speak for everyone else but i care more about how it plays than how it looks

I have watched a game and I will say that it is better than expected. The game moves at a pretty fast pace. But not too fast. Again it has it's issues though. The pitcher throws the ball over the plate right down the middle and it's called a ball. Then he throws a curve that almost kick up the dirt in front of the plate and it's a strike. The animations and the umps calls aren't synced. The call and animation is completely random. Not that big of a deal though. It's not a load of fun to watch the game but it is slightly enjoyable. Especially if it's a big game.

Trades: Some trades are accepted no problem and some are impossible. The Brewers put Fielder on the trading block and seeing how I was desperate for the power I offered deal after deal. Finally I said that I will give up guys that I was unwilling to part with and even that didn't make the Brewers budge. Maybe they didn't need a 24 year old stud pitcher but the game could at least tell what you what they want in return or what positions they are looking for.

Free agency seems pretty solid. The only thing I don't like is that you make an offer and you have to check your emails over and over to see if it was accepted or turned down. If they accept it tells you they were put on your "pending transactions" page. If they turn down they send you the email. The thing is some players sign in a day and some take a month. So in some cases you check your email 30 days for an answer.

I think I am going to rent this game first from Gamefly and just play this till MLB 2k9 comes out.
