MLB.TV? Anyone?

houtz, you do realize that you are within range of a blackout for every Pirates game right? You won't be able to see any of them on MLB.tv

This package is for people who are either avid baseball fans who wants to see every game possible, or people who have a favorite team no where near them. In my case, I live in Green Bay. All the Brewers games are blacked out but I'm a huge Braves fan so I get to see all their games when I normally could not. I think you're misunderstanding it a little bit.

And yes, I have 3 other guys in on my MLB.tv account and it runs very smooth.
 
You'd have to look around. If you live in PA, I wouldn't think you would get them but I may be wrong if you're outside the viewing area.
 
What's your zip code Houtz? You can plug in your zip code right on the front page of mlb.tv to see what teams are blacked out in your area.
 
If Houtz sends the money to me in Tennessee and I pay for it, he'd only be blacked out from Cardinals and Reds games I would assume, right? Or do they determine the blackout from your IP address. If it works by your IP address or something where they can determine where you are, then you are definitely blocked from all Pirates games if you live in PA, and most likely if you live in one of the surrounding states of PA. There's a blackout chart on mlb.tv.

I had it last year, but never ran into this problem as the Nats and Yankees are no where near Memphis.

It's definitely an awesome thing though, even if you can't see your own team. It's always good to come home and be able to watch some baseball whenever you want.

Also another thing for MLB.TV if you guys didn't know. For the people who don't have cable, if the games are broadcast on ESPN or ESPN 2 or any national television channel, the game will be blocked out for you. It won't be a big deal if you got cable, but if you don't have cable then it's something you should know.

Also, Fox shows baseball on Sundays and they show about 3 or 4 games and broadcast 1 in different areas. Because of that, all of the games Fox broadcasts on Sundays will be blacked out since the rights to show the games are owned by Fox.

It is based on current location, not the billing address. The guy who set mine up is in MN and I'm still blacked out for MIL games.

WTF?????? 4 teams? That's ridiculous!

I think MLB punishes people if they don't live in a city with an MLB team. In Pittsburgh, the only team blacked out for me is the Pirates. I could watch Indians games if I wanted, even though Cleveland is only 130 miles away. Phillies games arent blacked out either.

When I lived in Orlando, both Rays and Marlins games were blacked out. But if I lived in Tampa, Marlins games aren't blacked out. Stooooopid.
 
I can't tell who is blacked out in New Mexico.. is it the Twins or the Braves?

Either way they dont make sense.

I'm in Ames, Iowa (6 teams are blacked out).

Minnesota Twins (3+ hours)
Chicago Cubs and White Sox (6+ hours)
St. Louis Cardinals (7+ hours)
Kansas City Royals (3+ hours)
Milwaukee Brewers (6+ hours)

The drive time is from google maps which DOES NOT account for traffic. Last year when I went to a Cubs game (stayed in North Aurora) it took us close to 8 hours with traffic, Kansas City (stayed in Overland Park) took just under 4 hours doing 10 over the speed limit.

FUCK MLB and the blackouts. I understand the purpose behind the blackouts but when it is a 7+ hour drive the game should not be a blackout. I agree blacking out the Twins and Royals, but not the others.....

EDIT: How the fuck can St. Louis watch the Cubs, White Sox, and Royals? Thanks MLB!! Fucking dicks!

I know for sure that you can have multiple people on at once. I have 4 guys on at the same time daily with no issues. I wouldn't worry about that. I'd max out at 4 though.
