My alma mater going with Red Field Turf...

Ugh, thanks in part to a $500,000 donation from former Eastern Eagle Mike Roos we're getting our field redone.

Red freaking turf. I absolutely hate it. I think it's going to look overwhelmingly bad. I realize that it will stand out as something different in recruiting but I hate Boise State's blue turf and blue is a lot easier on the eyes than red. This blows.

Really pissed me off. From a fans view of the field, red jerseys on that field are going to suck. And when Portland State and their green come into town it'll be Christmas in October. I feel like 3D glasses are now a must.

Everyone I've talked to out there says it sounds bad but they demo'd it and it looks awesome. Don't really know how they previewed it but I hope it doesn't suck ass like it seems.

I think it's cool...then again, I'll only have to see it once. ESPN will show a game on the turf, and never mention it again...but Eastern Washington will live with it forever.

That's exactly what I thought until I talked to the football players. They all love the idea. D 1-AA Football players are not the smartest dudes

Anyway, I thought this wasn't allowed? I thought the NCAA passed a rule saying all fields had to be "generally" green, besides for Boise State's field being grandfathered in along with New Haven (D2 school). Any other fields couldn't be artificially colored some other color than a shade of green...

Oh well. I think it looks sweet. I'd love for GVSU to have blue turf, or even better, black turf.

Worst weekends of my life are the weekends where Montana plays IN CHENEY and it is a Grizzly home game. EWU fans are some of the worst in the nation but I proudly support them (and I think 15 other alum and 20 current students do too)

yeah griz fans travel pretty well to EWU and ISU and they used to turn the kibbie dome into our own little playground when we played idaho.

none the less i look forward to playing ewu every year....they usually end up being pretty entertaining games!

If Oregon can recruit because of their jerseys and Boise because of their blue turf, why not be the first with some red turf?
