Was just thinking about this, and was wondering what you guys were thinking...
He likes to fight a lot, but seems like he will have to wait at least 5-6 months before he gets a big name...
If he waits (im sure he will), he could get the winner of Pettis/Lauzon. Either one of these guys would bring a good fight, and I would be pumped for either. The winner would be fighting Diaz for the number one contender spot.
On that same card you have the LW championship. Does Diaz deserve a shot next? I dont know if I am sold, he has looked very good since his return to the LW division, but do two wins in a row make him deserving?
There are a couple of more names that would not be as big of a draw, but possibly could happen. I see these as unlikely, but definitely could happen down the line... Edson Barboza (9-0), Jacob Volkmann (5-0 since going down to LW) are a couple.
Then you have the rematches, Clay Guida who is coming off a loss to the number 1 contender, and Gray Maynard who just got beat by the champion.
I am not a Nate Diaz fan, but he is a good fighter. Yes, a smug bastard, a bit retarded, and a wangster, but you can't take away that he is getting up there in the LW division.
