While at E3 I was satisfied after my time with NCAA Football 10. You can read back through my impressions if you haven’t already, but basically the game has a similar feel but with numerous additions and improvements from last year that become more evident the more it is played. Unfortunately after I got back all that was soon overshadowed by news of the rosters being in terrible shape and the DLC “boosts” for dynasty that would also affect Online Franchise.

First on the topic of the rosters the NCAA team has been working to find a solution. While there are no specifics at this time on how that will be done, after a series of comments including one on Twitter today it sounds as though they are going to be able to come up with a way to fix the rosters. I can’t imagine they would be making these comments unless they were confident in the ability to do so. Hopefully that can be completed without losing all the teams that have been built through Teambuilder this month.

While that was somewhat a given I was even more encouraged by the reference to the downloadable content issue. Producer Jeremy Strauser mentioned this in his message to me on Twitter: “NCAA team working on a patch so that DLC can be deactivated in Online Dynasty”. That would pretty much eliminate the reasoning behind being upset about that DLC. If you can imagine last year people would argue over the legitimacy of restarts. Having the cheats activated in online dynasties and no way to prevent them would surely have led to accusations, potentially spoiling the enjoyment since no one would know for sure of the validity of their dynasty.

If they can get both these issues fixed by release I think that would show a commitment to the community that maybe has been lacking in the past. So this is good news and hopefully we’ll hear that both come to fruition in the near future.

I'm sure the rosters will be fixed that is not a problem. im gonna do what i do every year. get the blockbuster game pass and get this game for a month and then drop this crap and get madden at the midnight release.

I am definitely NOT buying NCAA 10.

It sounds like a disaster.

PastaPadre will write whatever gets him invited to the next community event. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but his non-stop ass-kissing makes him an indie version of IGN in my opinion. He doesn't dare piss off EA or his non-stop freebies and trips to EA studios end.

I've been to two EA Sports Community Events (NCAA Basketball 09, Madden 10) and enjoyed the hell out of both. I think the developers really do try hard and I know they want to do the best they can for gamers. Seriously. But I'll be damned if I kiss anyone's ass to get invited to a third event.

I want the best games, not a bunch of guys going to these events and apologizing for the faults in these games after they've been to the events.

I think the Madden 10 Gamestop demo code thing sucks, same for the TW 10 code.

If EA is gonna continue to invite true community guys to the events, those guys should have the freedom to give their true opinions. My gut tells me a guy like Pastapadre always fears a strong opinion will cost him his burgeoning career.

I'd kill to go to a Tiger community day event.

I always rent it...Ncaa is the same this year as it has been every year so I don't see what the big deal is when the rosters get fixed.

Not buying and will be the first time I haven't bought NCAA since 03. Don't feel like wasting $60 on it to play it for a month and this sounds like a disaster. I'll rent but not buying.

I canceled my order on Amazon. Instead I'll rent it (Gamefly), if I like it enough, I'll use my gift card from TRU and pick it up for $40. If I feel it's just a roster update (messed up...lol), I'll put that gift card to something else.

comparing the improvements from this and madden, this game looks like its gonna be 100% shit. for the first time since joey harrington was on the cover, i will not get this game over madden. ian cummings looks like he is doing everything in his power to finally make madden worth the price tag while ncaa is once again the red headed step child.

The game is fine. Its nothing spectacular but its a decent game. Play the demo and give it a shot. I didn't see any glaring flaws, but I've only played 4 games and have only played the CPU so I don't know yet.

depends on how much you like college football, football video games, and what your other options are.

i will be getting it cuz i enjoy all three of those aspects. it will fill a void for a couple months till madden. if i like it i'll keep it, if not i'll trade it in for madden. not a big deal.

i love usc football. i love playing as the trojans and playing in the coliseum but if the game is bad enough where everytime i play it i just get pissed off because i cant stop thinking how the lazy developers let stupid shit into the game, i just dont want it.
