KNUBB
WHITE RONDO
Offense
QB Drew Brees A+
One of the elite QBs in the game. Last season was a down year for him with a career high in INTs thrown. The Saints offense was still potent. Brees should bounce back this season to lead the high scoring O.
HB Pierre Thomas/Reggie Bush/Mark Ingram C+
In the Saints offense no one is really the starter at the tailback position. Pierre may end up being the starter at the beginning of the year, but I have a feeling Ingram will be the workhorse of this group by seasons end. Reggie is injury prone and no one even knows if he will stick around with the Saints. He is just a giant question mark.
WR Marques Colston B
Colston is a big man who knows how to use his body. He will sometimes lose focus and start dropping the ball, but when you need a 1st down then Colston is your guy. Guy is kind of underrated because he doesn't get the flashy plays.
WR Lance Moore B-
Lance Moore is a perfect player to play opposite of Colston. He is one of the better route runners in the league and can get separation from most defenders with his cuts. He also has some of the surest hands on the Saints. The only thing holding Moore back is a contract dispute that will be rectified once the new CBA is in place.
TE Jimmy Graham C
Graham is a young TE that turned out to be a lethal threat in the passing game towards the end of last season. He is a former basketball player and is still learning the TE position. The real knock on Graham is no one knows if he has any ability to block. He was rarely in for blocking purposes last season. David Thomas came in to block for Graham. It may be more of the same this season.
LT Jermon Bushrod C
Bushrod's time at the LT position is numbered. He has been a servicable replacement for Jamaal Brown a few years ago. The elite players are capable of making Bushrod look foolish(See DeMarcus Ware). Charlie Brown out of USC should be coming in to take this spot soon. If Bushrod starts to perform badly then it can happen this season.
LG Carl Nicks B-
Nicks has been getting progressively better every season. The middle of the Saints O line is one of the strengths of the team. Nicks gets it done because he is smart and durable. He hasn't missed a game in his entire career. He should be able to keep his progress up.
C Jonathan Goodwin B
Goodwin is one of the better Centers in the game right now. Him along with Drew Brees making reads on the defense helps keep Brees off his back.
RG Jahri Evans A
Evans is arguably the best Guard in football. He manhandles anyone he is up against. He is the anchor of the O line and gets it done. One of the main reasons Drew Brees hardly ever gets hit.
RT Jon Stinchcomb B-
Stinchcomb is getting older and the Saints need to start looking for his replacement. He does a great job at the RT position, but sometimes gets beat off the ball.
Defense
DE Will Smith C+
Smith is a balanced player that some can say he as underachieved. He will have days that he is on and does everything right in getting pressure on the QB and doing what needs to be done in the running game. Smith does have the tendency to disappear in games though.
DT Sedrick Ellis B-
Great young player out of USC. Ellis needs to stay healthy, but he has the ability to be a premiere DT in the league. He is an exceptional player in run support. Knows how to fill his gaps and he can beat center and guards to get to the QB.
DT Shaun Rogers C+
This big body brought in right before the lockout may be exactly what the Saints need to help with run support. They have this hole in the D line for years. Maybe it's just wishful thinking to hope that Rogers is what is needed to ensure plays like Marshawn Lynch's TD run ( :crying: )never happen again.
DE Alex Brown C
Brown is really only useful in passing situations. I have a feeling this position will be rotated with newcomer Cam Jordan. Brown does what he can, but a lot of times that just isn't enough. He makes his share of plays though. This will be Jordan's spot in the near future.
OLB Scott Shanle C
Shanle isn't a starter on most teams, but on the Saints he seems to fit in well. He isn't the best player, but he plays hard. A pretty sure tackler if you don't look at Marshawn Lynch's run :shifty:. That is about all he has going for him. I wouldn't be sad if he got replaced soon.
MLB Johnathan Vilma A-
Vilma is the star of the Saints D. He is the equivalent of Drew Brees on this side of the ball. He makes all the calls and runs the defense. He is smart and is quick enough to run sideline to sideline to make his play.
OLB Jonathan Casillas D+
Casillas is supposed to be a career special teams player, but lack of depth has him cracking the starting spot and this will possibly the biggest question mark on the entire defense.
CB Tracy Porter C+
Again I ask do not look at the Marshawn Lynch play. We all know it was bad. Porter is an aggressive CB that is looking for the INT. This costs him sometimes. He has the speed to keep up with the fastest WRs, but he is a small guy and can get manhandled by bigger WRs.
FS Malcolm Jenkins B+
Jenkins is really coming into his own at the FS spot. He has Darren Sharper being a mentor to him and he is gonna be a special player in this league. He has great ball skills thanks to him being a CB for a lot of his career. He makes great reads on the QB and is a pretty good tackler in run support.
SS Roman Harper C-
Harper is an overglorified LB. He is a great tackler, but he is always lost in coverage. His only use is in run support. He was consistently getting beat on double moves.
CB Jabari Greer B
Greer is a damn good cover corner. He jams WRs well at the line of scrimmage and has enough speed to not get beat deep. He is his best in zone coverage though. He has a knack for reading QBs and making plays in zone.
I'm just gonna put this here before this thread gets killed with it.
