Challenger Nick Diaz was a no-show Tuesday so welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre was left to plug their UFC 137 showdown on his own.

The UFC offered no reason for Diaz's absence in Toronto but the former Strikeforce champion is no fan of such media events.

St-Pierre said he did not know what was going on in Diaz's life, so he was not going to speculate on the California fighter's reasons for not joining him to hype their Oct. 29 fight in Las Vegas.

But the 30-year-old champion from Montreal says it's a little unfair in that he interrupted his training for the press tour

"Nick is going to be there (a press conference held Wednesday in Las Vegas) tomorrow, and we'll go from there."

Cesar Gracie calls Dana White during UFC 137 press conference, says he can't find Nick Diaz

As if this scenario couldn't get any more bizarre.

During the UFC 137 press conference today (Sept. 7), Dana White announced that Nick Diaz is no longer going to fight Georges St. Pierre in the main event on Oct. 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

That's because Diaz skipped town and decided not to attend the press conference today, no different than he failed to do in Canada recently. So what exactly happened to him and where the heck is he?

As it turns out, nobody knows, not even his family or his manager.

In fact, during the press conference today, White received a call from Cesar Gracie, Diaz's manager, which he took while he was on stage in front of the media. After a brief conversation, here's the information he relayed:

"I apologize and I agree with what you're doing 100-percent. We're embarrassed. I've been trying to chase Nick around town. Nobody can find him."

Adding to this even further is the fact that White revealed later in the presser that Gracie, at one point, had Diaz in his house and the former Strikeforce champion literally snuck out the back door.

Yikes.

I talked to Dana about this before, and I think a big problem with all of this is Nick has social anxiety. He doesn’t like to go and be away from home. “He doesn’t feel comfortable being around people,” he said. "He has a very deep ingrained social anxiety, and it’s something he probably needs help for, I think. I think that’s why he self-medicates himself with the marijuana. That’s my amateur opinion.

“He did the same crap with Paul Daley and a couple other guys. It was the same Nick Diaz. It’s not the pressure of fighting GSP. It’s the pressure of doing a news conference before the fight. Fighting is no pressure because he gets to beat someone up or get beat up.”

“I’ve always been there to facilitate things for him and stuck up for him even when he was wrong. If I were him, I would be calling Dana at some point basically begging for my job and giving [me] another chance to fight for the title.”
