Official Philadelphia 76ers 2011-2012 Season Thread

I know we have some Philly fans in here that might be interested in some Sixers talk. Post your thoughts here.

I'm excited about the next three games. It'll be a real test to see how good we really are.

I think me and you are the only Sixers fans on the site.

Anyway, I think these next 3 will really prove what kind of team we have this year. Can we really hang with the big boys of the East or are we just a middle of the pack team who feasts on weak competition. The way we play defense I think we will be in all 3 games, just will be interesting to see which players step up scoring wise in this little stretch.

I thought I've seen a couple Philly fans around. We'll see who comes out of the woodwork. At the least it'll be a good forum for Knicks fans to bust balls.

Having Iggy on the floor in the closing minutes of a close game really scares me. He has hit some big shots, but his ball handling seems to get worse late in close games, like he's trying to do too much. I'd like to see Jrue assert himself more in those spots.

Looks like Evan Turner is playing tonight after missing the last game, Spencer Hawes is a game time decision.

With the Celtics and Knicks not starting off too well and the Magic more than likely trading Dwight Howard some time this season, the East is wide open after the Heat and the Bulls. It will be interesting to see if this new look Sixers team can do anything in the post season.

Are you asking if people in Philly are talking about an NBA Championship? No, we're not. I think in the East we are in the second tier with the Hawks, Celtics, and Magic. I think we'll win our division and maybe one series.

Lol at Andre Miller hitting 3 three's tonight. I don't think he made 3 three pointers his entire time with the Sixers.

Up by 2 under 2:00 remaining. We make another big defensive stop and Iggy brings it down the floor. Call an isolation play, and instead of driving to the basket he takes an 18 foot jumper on a night where he couldn't hit anything. Could of iced the game there.

Down by two in OT 40 seconds left, they take out Turner and Young, two guys that led the charge to get us back in the game, and put in Lou Williams and Jodie Meeks. Cold off the bench, Williams attempts a three and misses.

Of course I call for Holliday to take the ball at the end. He promptly turns the ball over on the last meaningful possesion.

Good game, but we gave it away.

I think the goal is to win a playoff series this year. No one in the city thinks we are built to win it all, but we are a good young team on the rise.

I watched the end of the game last night but just can't get into basketball, I'll catch a game every once in a while but that's about it.

What a second half, held the Hawks to 29 points in the second half. Great overall defensive performance. Needed that game, we could of been looking at 3 straight losses after tomorrow night.

I'll say this though, McGrady had his way in the 1st half. We couldnt cover him. LeBron might go for 50 tomorrow night if we don't sure that up.

I'll say this though, McGrady had his way in the 1st half. We couldnt cover him. LeBron might go for 50 tomorrow night if we don't sure that up.

I might not be a big Iggy supporter but he did hold Joe Johnson to 8 points tonight. I think LeBron will have a good game, but I'm more worried about Bosh abusing old ass Elton Brand. I hope Thad gets a lot of minutes at the 4 tomorrow night to match Bosh's athleticism, I wouldn't even mind seeing Lavoy get some minutes. Also hopefully Big Spence is back by Wednesday.

I thought we were right there until Vucevic got hurt, than the wheels came off. I thought ET had a great showing.

We need a healthy Hawes and Vuc to play with these top tier teams..
