That's an awesome commercial.

I was a huge Dave Parker fan as a kid. Injuries and a nasty coke habit will keep him out of the HOF. He was one of those guys that was such a good athlete, that he didn't need to stay in shape. He was always fat, but could really run before he got old, and had one of the strongest arms I ever saw. If you were making up an all star team of guys with pure talent, regardless of how their careers turned out, Dave Parker would be the RF.

Another cokehead!

Before his injuries, Parker was a two time batting champ and perennial MVP threat who hit .330+ multiple times. Straw had more raw power, and was probably a little faster. Parker was a far superior defensive player, a better overall hitter, and was able to comeback and reinvent himself after his issues, with two MVP caliber years with the Reds and then several years in the AL as a .280/20/90 DH.

Parker finished with 2700+ hits and almost 350 HR's, with a .290 avg. The amazing thing about Strawberry, is he hit the same amount of HR's, but did nearly all of his damage in his first 9 seasons. Had he put together a good second run like Parker, he'd have pushed 500 HR's.
