The guy who started Nike was the track coach at Oregon so I guess they figure if there going to make uniforms for a school it should be that one.

The multiple uniforms, I don't mind. Oregon has found a way to make a tradition out of it and it makes them who they are. The purists can go suck a dick, they've found a way to make modern cool and memorable and it's clearly working for them.

However, I still hate that highlighter green color. I never minded the black and the carbon, but why highlighter green? Has Oregon just completely forgotten what colors they wear? It's the only thing that's bothering me... that fucking specific color.

At least with this, the navy blue was there to contrast it, but the highlighter green is on white. That's fucking disgusting.

Marketing....gives em somethin else to sell. Branding, well what better then to have the actual owner of Nike being an alumnus of your school and giving them freedom and free unis for the year.

And just to clear it up...Phil only ran track for Oregon, didnt coach. The coach was Phil Bowermen who used to make running shoes using a waffle iron and rubber. Nike made a Phil Bowerman running shoe for years in honor of him.

i dont care about the uniforms, i care about the boatloads of cash people will pay for these "new" jerseys and uniform sales that will go nowhere near their players pockets. If Oregon wins, its the trendy jersey, the rich get richer, and the players dont see a damn thing. if Casey matthews blows out his knee, and can never play football again, he wont see a dime of this shit, but "cool kids" across the nation will want to rock the new jerseys.

Oregon uni's are like Call of Duty. reskin it and come up with a new title rapidly, and people will buy that shit left and right (and college athletics is exactly that, a product, that consumers devour, with those who directly affect the quality of it recieving nothing until NFL draft day).

Why? Chip Kelly's tells his recruits that the players make the brand, the brand doesn't make them. The players are in charge of choosing the uniforms they'll be wearing every game.
