André 3000 is perhaps the ideal actor to star as the late great rock legend Jimi Hendrix in the big screen biopic.
The OutKast rapper is not only a great musician but he also pays a strong resemblance to the US Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.
Andre, real name Andre Benjamin, was seen on the set of All Is By My Side, earlier today outside The Stag's Head pub in Dublin, Ireland.

The 37-year-old was dressed in full Hendrix costume sporting a big afro and a 1960s psychedelic outfit. He wore a pair of tight purple trousers with black boots and colourful shirt with cuffs and collar that matched his bell bottoms.
Benjamin strutted down the street with a swagger just like that of Hendrix, as he puffed on a cigarette moments before his fight scene.

Andre was being shown how to do an argument convincingly with co-star Hayley Atwell, by a stunt co-ordinator.
The cast and crew were not keen on having their leading man photographed and tried their best to obscure the behind-the-scenes pictures from being taken.
The Ms. Jackson singer had campaigned hard to get the movie made but has come up against one major hurdle in quest to see Hendrix on the big screen.

According to reports, Hendrix's estate has not given permission for any of the guitarists songs to be used in the film, so the movie will need a new soundtrack.
All Is By My Side is a about the rock star's life, which focuses on Jimi's career breakthrough around the time he moved to London in 1966. Hence the reason why Andre is filming in Dublin.
The film will focus on the icon's exploits as he worked on his classic debut, Are You Experienced?

While Andre bears a resemblance to the legendary musician, his guitar skills are not thought to be a close match, as he admitted his biggest hit, Hey Ya! was based on the only four chords he knew how to play in 2002.
The film has been a long time in the making, with Andre previously saying: 'Everybody wants to do the movie, but there are so many things that go into a biopic.
'It's kinda like, until you are on set doing it you can't say what's going on.'
Andre's previous film credits include his film/album concept Idlewild with his OutKast partner Big Boi as well as parts in Be Cool, Four Brothers and Semi-Pro.

I'm trying to find the article but with this new news about him filming, it's probably been pushed back in the search engine. I'm not sure how good the film will be with out original JH movie though. I'm weary of that.

Andre 3000 is still in Dublin, Ireland shooting the Jimi Hendrix biopic All By My Side. Although details behind the film have been kept under wraps, The Outkast member has been snapped in character before. In the latest flicks, Three Stacks shoots a scene with co-star, Hayley Atwell, who plays Hendrix's girlfriend Linda Keith. In their scene, Andre and Atwell play out an incident in which the couple was harassed by police. The film's script was penned byJohn Ridley, whose previous work includes Red Tails,Three Kings, and U-Turn.While family members worked to halt production of the project, they were unsuccessful in their pursuit. He's a decent actor but hasn't been overly impressive in the few serious roles that he's had. That said, I could see him pulling this off and this movie being great depending on his performance.
