I think the Jets got the draft pick that ended up being Shaun Ellis when BB went to the Pats. But that was forced compensation by the league.

Yeah it's not a pure trade the same way Gruden was.

Basically to prevent the obvious tampering that was going on on both ends they've agreed upon compensation. White Sox buy out the last year of Ozzie's deal and in turn the team that he manages next year (quite obviously Marlins) they owe the White Sox compensation.

Overall good riddance, definitely needs to be in the NL and not bunting and moving runners over in the best home run hitter's park in the American League. He did a lot right for the White Sox but over the years he did far more wrong. Bad lineup decisions, sticking with mediocre/veteran players too long, calling out/benching younger players, mind numbling dumb in-game decisions, etc. He's really good with bullpens and should do alright for himself in the NL.

Although some of these guys may have never panned out he really, really damaged the careers of Brian Anderson, Josh Fields and nearly tried to do the same with Dayan Viciedo.

I don't think so, personally. That organization sucks because the owner is a colossal dickhead. Girardi and Gonzalez were fired after competitive seasons just because Loria got mad at them. And if Loria doesn't like LoMo's tweets, how the fuck is he going to coexist with Ozzie?

Not to mention the gaping holes in the Marlins roster going forward and the fact that the NL East is pretty damn tough. I don't think Ozzie lasts any longer than two, maybe two and a half years, but I'd be perfectly fine with him staying longer.

That was one of the original rumors but I'm not sure if it was credible or just a "He wants to go and we want to get rid of Ozzie" thing.

And that's one of the big x-factors, on the field he'll probably do okay but yeah he's a loud mouth asshole that puts himself in front of the team constantly and a team like the Marlins that really relies on younger talent. He'll bury most of the young guys shortly and demand his bench be filled with mediocre veteran middle infielders.
