Yeah it's not a pure trade the same way Gruden was.
Basically to prevent the obvious tampering that was going on on both ends they've agreed upon compensation. White Sox buy out the last year of Ozzie's deal and in turn the team that he manages next year (quite obviously Marlins) they owe the White Sox compensation.
Overall good riddance, definitely needs to be in the NL and not bunting and moving runners over in the best home run hitter's park in the American League. He did a lot right for the White Sox but over the years he did far more wrong. Bad lineup decisions, sticking with mediocre/veteran players too long, calling out/benching younger players, mind numbling dumb in-game decisions, etc. He's really good with bullpens and should do alright for himself in the NL.
Although some of these guys may have never panned out he really, really damaged the careers of Brian Anderson, Josh Fields and nearly tried to do the same with Dayan Viciedo.
