I'm going with Clottey, I don't think he will get the decision win because its boxing and to much money will be lost if Pac losses, but I think he got robbed against Cotto and will probably get robbed again, but oh well

Love watching Pac fight, but I'm going with Clottey

Gonna be a good fight but Clottey is to slow. Pacman will be in and out all night. Look at the 1st 4 rounds of Zab vs Clottey. Same thing here, fast south paw, running combos and moving but for 12 whole rounds. Clottey will have problems finding him.

you think it'll go the distance, wow that would mean it will be a hell of a fight, and no doubt Clottey got robbed in the Cotto fight.

I don't think Pac will KO Clottey, at some point the size difference will catch up to Pac, I think this is the fight, Clottey will put up a better fight than Cotto
 
Agree wholeheartedly with BB on this one. Clottey is too soft and won't want any, IMO. Pac will intimidate him with his hand/foot speed and punching power. I, too, thought he outboxed Cotto but looked like a vagina while doing so. He had Cotto hurt and immobile and still couldn't impose his will on him. Meanwhile, Pac whipped Cotto's ass for 8 rounds.

I feel like making somewhat of a wild prediction, so I'm going to say Pac finishes him in the 4th. No I didn't stutter. I know Clottey has never been knocked down, but Clottey has never fought anyone like Manny Pacquiao.

Not saying Pacman will intimidate him nor am I saying Clottey is soft, he is quite the opposite. I just feel stylistically Clottey should not pose that much a of a threat for Pacman but his size, chin and defense will make it an interesting fight. I dont see Pacman KOing him. I would be surprised if that was the case. Clottey is a very durable and big WW.

I just feel it will be the same story as the 1st few rounds of the Judha Clottey fight but Pacman can do it for 12 rounds. Judha was out boxing Clottey early in that fight but he faded and completely unraveled once that cut opened up. Even in losing those 1st few rounds Clottey continued to press forward and ultimately took over. Will be a good fight regardless.

The year’s first big event – aptly named “The Event” is officially under way.

Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey both made weight for their welterweight fight at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday evening (HBO PPV, $54.95).

Pacquiao checked in at a chiseled 145 ¾ lb, while the finely-tuned Clottey weighed in at the division limit of 147 lb.

The fight marks the first truly big event of 2010, though with plenty more in queue.

At stake is the alphabet welterweight title Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38KO) violently annexed in his 12th round stoppage of Miguel Cotto last November.

The title-winning effort led to Pacquiao –widely regarded as the best fighter in the world, pound-for-pound - securing Fighter of the Year honors in 2009. The award was the third in the past four years for the Filipino southpaw, in addition to being named the top fighter of the past ten years and establishing himself as the biggest draw in the sport today.

Clottey (35-3, 20KO) plays the role of hard-luck challenger hoping to cash in on the opportunity of a lifetime that landed in his lap. The Ghana-born, Bronx-based welterweight enters the fight on the heels of a nine-month layoff. His last fight came in his close, disputed points loss to Cotto last June in New York City.

The last time Clottey has seen the win column was August 2009, when he won a vacant title against faded former two-division champ Zab Judah.

However, the opportunity came about after plans for a Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather showdown fell through due to an unresolved dispute over the handling of drug tests for the fight. Clottey willingly stepped in the moment he was contacted by manager Vinny Scolpino.

No additional drug testing beyond what’s required by the Texas Boxing Commission has been demanded by either side for this event.

A crowd of 45,000 is expected to file in to the newly renovated state of the art Cowboys Stadium for this event, a testament to the drawing power of Pacquiao considering that Clottey is only known in hardcore boxing circles, save for the features dedicated to him for this particular event.

Are people seriously thinking Clottey is gunna win this? Last time he fought anyone good he barely made it out of the 1st round, Cotto just couldn't finish him, Paqiouo wont give him that chance, he picked this fight cuz it's a known name but an easy win. Not sayin Clottey couldnt pull some shit and catch paq off gaurd and win, but it's very very unlikely
 
I am not one who is going to take Clottey lightly, as stated i had him ahead of Cotto, but Cotto is a shot fighter so its not really saying a lot, sure he is the biggest fighter he has ever faced blah blah blah, but I am going with the KO prediction Pacman is on fire right now and Clottey is no Mayweather who is the only guy who I would pick against him, maybe Mosley. I say 10th round

Money is on Pacman by Decision and Over 9.5 rounds.. Pacman by decision nearly 2/1 money. I think Clottey can hang with stick around the whole fight.

SMH @ Clottey. Shit like this makes you think the fix was in. Not saying Manny couldnt beat him fair but in fights where someone just comes in as a punching bag, they work for the same promoter and one fighter has millions upon millions to lose you have to question whether or not what you seen was legit. I never seen Clottey just take a whipping like that and not try to do anything no matter how much of a defensive fighter he is.
