The only reason this is happening is b/c former GM Mark Dominik structured the contract that put the organization in a position to cut ties after each year if need be.
Revis' deal involves no signing bonus. It's $16 MM a season and if the Bucs cut him, it does not effect their cap. It was basically a series of 1-year deals. Actually a very good move by the organization to position themselves for an out after each season.

We would have to wait until he hits free agency, and unless they can sign Orakpo to an extension which removes the franchise tag cap hit, I can't see the Redskins having cap room for Revis as a free agent. We certainly don't have the ability to make a trade for him now, either.
I'd rather upgrade both safety and corner for the amount it would take for just Revis alone.
