Really, all the fuss about signing and that is the deal they get? I was expecting some $5.5 per year deal to happen, not $5.75 million total bullshit. Good deal for the Canadiens to have him signed under his RFA status so they get another crack at a long term deal afterwards. Why Subban didn't see that is beyond me. If you are this big player that you say you are, you are getting two more years to get a bigger payday long term in two years.

Good for Montreal to get him at this price. And honestly, I think it is fair. Subban was 28th last year in scoring for dmen and 30th the year before that. So sorry to say, you don't deserve to be paid in the top portion of defence in the league just yet. Sure you play top minutes for Montreal since they have no other dmen to play, but you shouldn't be paid like you are getting Karlsson points.

You are right on the money. PK doesn't deserve the elite money yet, he probably will get there but this contract is about right for the production he has shown. As far as the situation that has been going on in this dispute? PK better pull his head out of his ass,this doesn't bode well on him. As you put it, all this fuss over this contract? You have got to be kidding me. As a Bruin fan, we make fun of him but it seems the shit we give him might be true. He very well might be that drama queen and a cancer in the lockerroom. I was thinking the elite money could come with this hold out, but the Habs have a lot of contracts that need to be cleared out if I recall. Give them another two years, and I think they can give Subban the money he wants, but not right now, and with the deal Del Zotto received from the Rangers, they weren't going to go much beyond that.

Why? He is not elite yet. Talk about an overrated player, look no further than PK Subban. He very well might become an elite player but he has some work to do including something called defense. This guy makes Mike Green look good in the back end. He is getting more money than Del Zotto which frankly is more than he should.

I know you're blinded by your Montreal hate and blatant homerism, but let's not fool ourselves here. The Gorges-Subban pairing played long, tough minutes last season and held their own. By the way, Del Zotto was horrible last season against middling competition.

True enough, I have Hab hatred in my blood, I take a prescribed medicine for it to keep my levels elevated. Subban will be elite I believe but I don't think he is there yet. That should not make me a homer for saying that, that is my opinion. He is 23 with tons of room to grow. Most defenseman, don't come into themselves til their mid to late 20s. Defenseman are slower to develop than forwards, it takes time. Subban will get there but he is not there yet. His contract is about right, asking for 5 per was retarded and ridiculous. The fact he held out for what he got makes him foolish if you ask me. He didn't win anything by holding out.

I get why he held out. He wanted a long term deal, and probably some cash. I could see him wanting like a $5.5 million 8 year deal, or something. I just don't get the big deal to him. He wants to be a Canadien, so he signs this deal where he will be under RFA still come his next contract, and if he signs an 8 year deal with them then, he will be like 32 by the time that ends. So basically, a career Montreal Canadien.
