Ravens retaining Caldwell for '13, hire Juan Castillo

Jim Caldwell will remain offensive coordinator next season and “hopefully into the foreseeable future,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Monday.

Caldwell was promoted from quarterbacks coach Dec. 9 after Harbaugh fired Cam Cameron.

Harbaugh also announced that former Eagles offensive line coach and defensive coordinator Juan Castillo will be a consultant leading up to Super Bowl XLVII, then the team's running game coordinator next season. Castillo was fired by Philadelphia in October.

Under Caldwell, the Ravens have scored 24, 38 and 28 points in three straight playoff wins. Joe Flacco has thrown eight touchdowns and no interceptions in the postseason.

Had to keep Caldwell after how Joe and the offense has performed since he took over IMO. I kind of wish they would have brought in a few candidates just to hear what they had to say, but not sure that anyone "better" than Caldwell is left out there at this point.
 
I think it's a way to get him on the staff now and they will fire Andy Moeller, current O-Line Coach, in the offseason.

Whoever decided to put a mauler like Oher at left tackle instead of right tackle deserves to be fired.
