Listening to Meltzer & Alvarez, this one seems to be hitting Meltzer hard. He's been tight with Ric & his family for many years. This reminds me of when Pillman died, who was very close to Meltzer.

Ric found the body. Horrible.

The Charlotte Observer reported that Richard Reid Fliehr, 25, was found dead at a Residence Inn where he and Ric had been staying this morning.

Police were called at 10:35 a.m. about an unresponsive person in the hotel room on Piedmont Row Drive South. His cause of death will be determined in an autopsy.

Those close to the situation have said that Ric Flair found his son this morning unresponsive. He called police and Reid was pronounced dead at the scene when they arrived.

He had been staying in Japan until the March 17th show at Sumo Hall in Tokyo, when the tour ended. A friend of his father's in Japan, who spoke to Reid at the show, informed us that he was enjoying himself in Japan but said he was looking forward to going home in between tours.

The only official statement, by Melinda Morris Zanoni, Flair's agent and publicist, was that, "We are heartbroken to confirm that Ric's son, Reid Fliehr, has passed away today, March 29, 2013, in Charlotte, NC. The investigation into the cause of death is ongonig. Reid was 25 and an incredible son, brother, friend and professional wrestler. No words can describe the grief that Ric Flair and his family are experiencing and they do request privacy during this devastating time."

I'm sorry guys I didn't get it up sooner. I was at a long non-wrestling related meeting this morning and came home to a ton of messages. I rarely am that far from where I'd post something and this was that rare day.

Gutted all day. This is one of the worst ever, maybe the worst for me except for those who were close personal friends. As I said, 70% of my conversations with Ric ended up talking about Reid & Ashley, especially Reid.

It's been a horrible week. My brother-in-law, who I'm very close with, who is the same age as Reid, his best friend a few days ago fell off a boat and was chopped to death by the propellers and he's been worse off than I've ever seen him. His friend had come over many times.

Another very good friend is battling some bad issues, been borderline suicidal for 2-3 weeks but he always gets back to me immediately no matter how bad off he is, and I haven't heard from him since Tuesday and that's not a good feeling either, since he's out of state.
