The rumor that Miami Heat star LeBron James is buying a $49.5 million mansion in Coral Gables is false, according to luxury auto tycoon Alan Potamkin, who owns the home.
Real estate agents began hearing that James had put in an offer for the 11-bedroom mansion days before James announced he would be leaving Cleveland to join the Heat, and Life & Style magazine recently reported that James had begun the process of buying it.
``There's been no contact between me and him,'' Potamkin told The Miami Herald. ``I went through a divorce and put the home on the market about a year and a half ago, and delisted it about four months ago.''
Potamkin said he has no intention of selling the waterfront property in Gables Estates, which has 20,088 feet of living space, and was one of the highest priced homes in Miami-Dade County while it was listed.
