Rey Maualuga is over rated

Serioulsy, watch that link and when they are talking about how good he is you see him miss 3 tackles in 4 plays and in one play he went for the big hit and just failed miserably

He is slow and has no instincts, this guy doesnt deserve to be in the first round, he relies too much on his hitting power. He can play man to man with anybody and jsut doesnt deserve to go in the first round. I view him as soley a 3-4 thumper and nothing else, i have McKillop higher rated than him, Maualuga is not as good as people make him out, i see him going at 16 where NE will trade up for him but he is a 2nd round prospect IMO

Bill Belichick will not trade up. Only way Patriots draft him is if he is there at the 23 or in the second. But I rather have him then Cushing or Matthews

I will believe it when I see it. Belichick rarely trades up. Not saying it is impossible but it all depends on how much he would have to give. I do expect the patriots to trade though because they have been the most active team in trading within the last 5-6 years. I also wouldnt mind Rey Maualaga coming to NE because I think he will fit nicely along side Mayo.

I never liked him either honestly.. didn't get the fuss. He's not even an every down LB (he didn't play on 3rd down in college). What kind of a first round pick is that?

Mauluga needs to learn to tackle. If he continues to tackle the way he currently does, he's not going to be around long. He lowers his head way too often. Watching him play, I have a firm belief that half his salary will go to paying for illegal hits.

thats my point on him, he cant tackle, he will either slid off them or just clean miss as he goes for the big hit, the guy needs to learn technique, he is also a liability in pass coverage, i value Frantz Joseph in the fourth higher than Maualuga in the last first.

Maualuga is a 2-down linebacker who will struggle in coverage, will overpursue, and will miss tackles because he doesn't wrap up the ball carrier.

If Maualaga comes to the Patriots he wont be an every down LB either way. He will share time with Bruschi and Guyton so the Patriots wont ask as much of him as they did with Mayo. I still dont think they trade up to get him especially if it involves giving up a first and a second.

I don't' think they'll need to trade up for Mauluga. Teams have to realize that he has more faults then other players. He is a late 1st to early 2nd round pick. I think he'll be good in a 4-3, but it might be a couple of years before he even makes a mark in the league.

Yeah they wont trade up for Maulaga. They want to trade up to the top ten with either the Jags or the packers but they are more interested in Tyson JAckson and Robert Ayers.
