The NBA revealed the 18 players that will make up the first-annual "Rising Stars Challenge" at the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend. The game, formerly the Rookie/Sophomore Challenge, features TNT analysts Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley picking teams from a pool of nine rookies and nine sophomores. Those 18 players are as follows:

ROOKIES: Kyrie Irving (Cavaliers), Derrick Williams (Timberwolves), Tristan Thompson (Cavaliers), Ricky Rubio (Timberwolves), Brandon Knight (Pistons), Kemba Walker (Bobcats), Markieff Morris (Suns), Kawhi Leonard (Spurs), Marshon Brooks (Nets).

SOPHOMORES: Blake Griffin (Clippers), John Wall (Wizards), Evan Turner (76ers), DeMarcus Cousins (Kings), Greg Monroe (Pistons), Gordon Hayward (Jazz), Paul George (Pacers), Landry Fields (Knicks), Tiago Splitter (Spurs).

Several top-10 draft picks were left out on both sides. tbh there is no difference between this and rookie soph game, if anything it will make it a bit more entertaining since the teams well be mixed.

what they need to get rid of is the shooting star challenge thts fucking stupid. they should have a HORSE tournament.

There is a difference. When its rookies vs sophomores, the teams actually make sense, and there is bragging rights on the line about which draft class is superior.

Now its just a clusterfuck of players to decide who the better GM is between Shaq and Barkley.

Fucking lame.

He's averaging 18 points and 11 rebounds (62% shooting) a game in February so far.
 
Not sure what you guys were expecting. Its an all star game. A secondary all star game. They never even play hard in the real all star game.

The only sport that gives you an all star game where players try, is baseball.
