I think he'd consider it. The Brewers bats are pretty dangerous.. getting Halladay would likely seal them the NL Central and give them a legit ace come playoff time.

That being said, I highly doubt Milwaukee trades for him.

How about Trevor Hoffman the league's leading saves leader.

The Brewers aren't as bad as they used to be. Players at least listen to their offers, and heck, even CC considered the Brewers until the Yanks just blew them away.

Halladay would be treated like a God here in Milwaukee. Your talking about what happened with CC last year and greater. Games will be sold out, huge standing ovations etc.

No one wants to play in Milwaukee. Don't kid yourself. I respect that you're a fan ... but Milwuakee will never attract a serious free agent star.

Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun are 2 of the best hitters in the majors and legitimate stars. Its not a big market team and players arent lining up to go there, but Milwaukee is more of a legit contender than Toronto, no doubt.

Just to add to my point.

According to the Associated Press, via ESPN.com, the Brewers aren't likely to part with either third baseman Mat Gamel or shortstop Alcides Escobar before the July 31 trade deadline.

Also, the Brewers don't have good enough young pitching prospects to shell over. So the odds of them getting Halladay without giving up Escobar, Gamel or any good pitching, pretty much shows that they can't get him. Plus Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated said today that the Phillies seem to be strong favorites to land Halladay.

The Brewers have a LOT of young pitching talent right now in rookie ball and A.

The Jays are going to be tempted by the Brewers offer because Escobar, and Green would give the Jays a GREAT IF if they live to their potential, and Cain is an above average prospect. Jays also coveted Lawire before he was drafted by the Brewers.

No offense to the Brewers, but you guys are 3 games out in pretty tight division.

The Phillies are the defending World Champions, are in first place, and have just as much talent to give the BJ's as you say the Brewers do.

Halladay controls his own fate right now, he has a no-trade-clause. No player would choose the Brewers over the Phillies.

In what sense? Obviously the AL East is much tougher, but it doesnt really change the the Brewers are closer to being contenders than the Jays. Trust me.. im aware of how hard it is to win in the AL East.. thats why the Brewers are further along than we are.

Brewers are better off looking at a different pitcher. Bedard or Vazquez would cost a lot less, and still be a huge up grade. Halladay may or may not even accept a trade to Milwaukee, and he could always demand a trade in the offseason, which would suck for the Brewers.

And lol at the original poster thinking Bush will be bumped from the rotation if/when he is healthy. The guy was the Brewers most consistent starter before his injury,

If you're a team like the Phillies or Dodgers who are so close to a WS then you give up whatever prospects for Doc. Look at what he does in the toughest division in baseball. CG vs. BOS just today. If you can't trade your prospects for Doc who the hell can you trade them for?

Its not that teams wont trade there prospects for him. Its just that Toronto wants the teams top 4 or 5 prospects which is a lot especially if you're the Brewers where they probably wont have the cash to sign him to the extension after next season or worse he uses his rights and demands a trade this offseason which wouldnt be good if you are the Brewers and you just gave up the farm for him.
