Scorpio Sky burns his WWE bridge due to gay slur

You’ve probably never heard of professional wrestler Scorpio Sky. He’s had short stints in the NWA, WWE and TNA, but for the most part he’s like a third-string wide receiver trying to find a home. But just a day after publishing our list of 14 athletes who’ve made anti-gay tweets this year, Scorpio Sky increases the list by one…

Notice in that previous one, he won’t even say “nigger.” He calls it the “N word.” But “faggot” — No problem.

MicahNR, whom Scorpio interacted with above, reached out to us and told us, “I contacted several companies who employ him and only got a response from Lucha VaVoom, where they agreed with me and contacted the actor.”

He does eventually give an “if you’re offended” non-apology, while saying he’s not going to stop.

Also interesting on that one is that he draws a distinction between calling a faggot a “faggot” and calling a normal person a “faggot.”

Scorpio Sky, the low-level professional wrestler who tweeted a gay slur and attacked the people who didn’t like it, might be learning a lesson about how to treat other people. Mr. Sky, whose real name is Schuyler Andrews, hasn’t tweeted in almost a week since the incident, and at least two wrestling groups are distancing themselves from him.

Wrestling fan Micah R. contacted the WWE to ask them about Mr. Sky’s language. WWE Fan Services responded:

WWE strongly believes that everyone should be treated with respect and this principle is the foundation of our anti-bullying initiative, “Be a STAR”. Mr. Andrews no longer works for WWE and we have no plans to work with him in the future.

A wrestling group Mr. Sky does work with, Lucha VaVOOM, also isn’t happy with his anti-gay tweets:

Please rest assured that Lucha VaVOOM does not condone this language, and further, it’s important to us specify that we do not employ the character “Scorpio Sky.” The wrestler that plays “Scorpio Sky” appears sometimes, but not under that moniker, and he does not have access to speak for Lucha VaVOOM or any of his Lucha VaVOOM characters. However, we have emailed him our grievances and await his response.

No word on his response to them.

I don't think Schuyler was trying to degrade gay people, but you just can't use certain words if you are in the public eye, and you have to dole out a sincere sounding fake apology at worst if you get called on it. This twitter follower ran right to WWE, Lucha VaVoom, and this blog (and probably some other places too that no sold it). That's the world we live in.
